I’d take a victory over the all blacks. Obviously they are Wales bogey team. But i wouldn’t sacrifice it for a six nations title unless it was a world cup playoff maybe.
If Ireland win again this weekend it will be incredible. I hope they do. I’ll eat my words then. As for Wales, I think the matchup is also really good. Both incredibly close games. I think this south africa lineup is the first choice.

Steff I think it might be but in case EJPT is being serious I would make these observations - firstly Farrell has improved the Irish team since taking over from Schmidt; I don't believe the same could be said for Pivac with Gatland; secondly did you see the Ireland against Wales game in this 6 nations; thirdly when Pivac took over from Gatland Wales were ranked in the top 4, Ireland were 7/8th - as of today Ireland are 2nd & Wales 8th - by any stretch of the imagination Farrell's body of work is currently far superior to Pivac's. Finally why shouldn't Farrell be concentrating on France 2023??? I don't think Pivac is doing anything different bearing in mind he has AWJ & Lydiate in his current best 23.

Ireland were 2nd in the world Rankings in July 2018. So at this point in the World Cup cycle they’re where they were 4years ago. With a lot of the same players.
Andy Farrel is and isn’t concentrating on RWC, and I think rightly. Aseries win in New Zealand’s?! You’re not gonna get a better chance. How many sides have won a 3 match series in NZ? England ‘03, that’s it no? Pivac has actually won a trophy. But the raw Win % stats would say that Farrel & Ireland have been far superior since the 2020 6N and on. I don’t think that’s debatable. What is up for debate is whether Pivac having won the 6N in 2020 has allowed him to rotate and experiment in a way Ireland haven’t, which might put Wales in better stead for France 2023. Rugby comes in cycles and it is entirely possible that England and Wales are ‘troughing’ at the right time.

World ranking is a farcical barometer but I see your point.
The point i was making (badly) is its very much eggs in one basket for Ireland in regards to Sexton. Wales have a contingency with Anscombe and Sheedy. Farrel pretty much has a ready made team with Leinster supplemented by some of the stronger other provincial players. Pivacs piecing together terrible welsh regional rugby. Think you are too harsh on him.

Pivac has take a lot of stick some of it justified but he is working with the poo show that is The WRU.
He has brought in a lot of young players to have a taste of international rugby and we will be stronger for it. He made massive error with Italy game which was treated as a benefit game for AWJ and Biggar. He has had huge injury problems missing our best fly half and centre for a long time remember Anscombe was first choice before his injury. He is in credit for me at moment but he must stick to first team now until World Cup. I would say Stephen Jones need to up his game as our attack is not looking great at moment. They must find a way of getting North into game more. |

Agree, this side is as close as it gets to all guns blazing from the Boks. Just hoping we stay in the fight of this one! Lydiate to make 30+ tackles is a bet I’d take
