if the rest bar cardiff merthyr  and ponty say yes. Then the league goes through and these other 3 face the stark reality of folding,  maybe thats what cardiff  want so the regional side becomes cardiff rfc?
I think Ebbw will say yes and RGC gets admitted automatically doesn’t it. Not sure re the Quins who have good ties to Scarlets especially via Brian Jones of Castell Howell ( a fine man) but who seems to have slipped back for some reason. I do hope they form our second club

Aberavon seem vocal against it.  Bridgend pontypool seem pro the new set up.  Too long between games for me but i agree with isea of a streamlined premiership tbh

Llanelli RFC is no more as a team then. The Crys16 meeting with Simon Muderack confirms they won't be applying for the EDC (although the criteria meant they couldn't anyway??!!) and that Llanelli RFC is the Scarlets.

I've suggested that it might be better to call it a hiatus rather than disbanding.

l So all the nonsense they spun earlier in the year about reforming the rfc to better playet devolpment etc has been proven to be a load of twaddle, bad form that tbh

Yep. They have not known to do what was best for the name Llanelli rfc. It became a nuisance to the Scarlets over time and for many years it’s been underfunded and subject to regular whippings by better funded outfits with few fans attending. Llanelli was lost to the regional mantra of Moffetism! Personally I’d have retained the name but the rfc was dropped. Hard to see any future for it now. I also query why Gareth and Moony are board members as Llanelli Heritage Directors- of what? Some might say it’s a tale of mismanagement focus  and/or  lack of clarity of vision for many years with running costs being the foremost concern to the Scarlets for those years . Just a shame to witness the manner of our demise by not even honouring the season.

Excellent post Reesy. Articulated how we all feel.
Other regions are still supporting  Pemiership sides , several more than this.
Llanelli 's identity has been lost.
For a while I suggested a rebrand , and games played at Stebonheath as opposed Parc, where there was never any atmosphere,  and it got worse.
During a time when when Ripper Hawkins and Powell were the heartbeat of the team , we should have built  on it.
Sadly a disinterested  Scarlets and a weak RFC committee  have led us to where we are now. Shameful!

I stood yer on tanner bank
