Always fancied the idea of Close to the Edge as music at my funeral - hopefully long distant; need to plan ahead. At nearly 20 mins, might have to book two slots at the Crem. I agree with you about Joe Walsh and, linking the two subjects, Life’s Been Good is in pole position for that occasion.

A remarkable album, close thing , between this and Fragile. I was a Yes fan and still am. The line up of bruford, howe, anderson , squire, and wakeman, was the best. Seen them twice live..amazing ! I am also a big fan of Joe Walsh and have all his solo albums. Nothing against Bernie Leadon, but Eagles got even better when joined, brought a hard edge ,to contrast with all the soft melodic harmonies. My all time hero, is of course JACKSON BROWNE. He wrote a song for his 1974 album "Late for the Sky"... called "FOR A DANCER" which was for a friend of his, (a dancer), who sadly had passed a way. The melody is haunting and the lyrics are so poignant, with the concept of death and our inability to process it. Its well worth a listen |
