Was always going to be a tough ask against the unbeaten league leaders.

After 64', we are down 28-14.

Saving grace this week, Bridgend 36-38 Newport, but still get 2 LBP.

Scarlets before Wales

The commentators kept repeating that Llanelli had 7 Scarlets players for this game. What they didn't say is that of these only Ioan Nicholas had more than a couple of Scarlets games, and most would have been on the field less than grand total of 80 minutes. Without knowing much about the Cardiff side it seemed to me that the two sides well illustrated the two different philosophies that Gareth Jenkins had recently highlighted, with Llanelli including far more development players and the Blues selecting a mainly experienced side with the likes of Morgan Allen (the MOM) using his power and experience to win it for Cardiff.
Of the Llanelli side, second row Chris Long was mobile and skilful as was 8 Josef Miles.Tom Rogers at 15 was the pick of the backs.

Is Tom ready to step up Ffidel. He has been talked about for some time now.

Tom Rogers, was certainly our best back yesterday, but apart from Halfpenny, who is head and shoulders above the others we have Prydie, Tomi Lewis, Rogers and non-specialists like Ioan Nicholas and Steff Evans. I really haven't seen enough of him to say that he is the best of the rest.

Good points - I assume Long was the second row who made that amazing long run to set up a try - wonder how big and resilient he is? Could he step up to the Scarlets fairly soon? He is certainly some athlete.
