I hope Raynal, is better than he was , in the SF v Glasgow.
Abysmal...is being kind. !
Joy Neville, a far better ref. and would be better served on the pitch, not as TMO.

How Whitehouse is there, with the standard of his work as and official, is something we can add
to the "greatest Wonders of the World"Confused

All the officials will be on their mettle as it’s the peak event of a career.

Whoever manages them needs to enable a collaborative and encouraging environment with appropriate values, then the officials can thrive. The rest is up to them.

A semi final in the Challenge might not be the most exciting appointment that a referee receives. However, it is their duty to turn up fully focused and wanting to be there to produce their best. That’s what life as a professional is particularly about.

Whoever officiates, we manage to find their mistakes, correctly or otherwise.

These folk are probably the best available with a couple of names around the fringes possibly unlucky with their role or not making the list.

That’s life.

Joy is a great referee, always takes time to think things through rather than listening too much to her TMO.

Whitehouse's stock has fallen hugely & I can't say I am surprised.

Less than half the teams competing at the WC have an official from their country involved, I'm struggling to accept that there isn't a single referee in Japan, South America, the Pacific Islands and Scotland who's capable of at least being an assistant referee or TMO.

Exactly I wouldn’t trust Whitehouse to ref the tag at half time during Scarlets games

The fact that wales has only 2 representatives and Scotland none just goes to show the poor standard of refereeing in the URC.  If I was head of the URC I would be talking to the head of the refereeing team for the IRC (sorry there isn’t one, the last one left about 2 years ago and has never been relaxed) and stating that standards need to improve as this is a damning endorsement of the league and it’s officiating.
To think that many years ago we were the shining lights when it came to refereeing - there would be uproar if a welsh referee wasn’t elected to referee the World Cup Final, or semi at least.

I’m shocked that Karl Dickson is included.  He’s very poorly thought of in the GP.  And I doubt he had Exeter’s vote 😉

to be fair Ben and Craig are young referees so they have done okay getting their positions. I recall them speaking to Crys16 some years back when we organised a meet the refs night and they were really helpful and informative about the referee structure and all things Ref. I think all fans should attend this course every season!!! 😉 ( I’m half serious)
