Ospreys didn't  deserve  to win,  despite  the late show.
There was no repeat of the heroics from Walsh ,as a mirror image of what happened  at Parc.
Bennetton, like the Italian national  team, are a totally  different  beast these days.Years ago they were hard to beat at home, and occasionally  flaky on their travels. Not any more.
They were more dynamic than the Ospreys,  playing with some real purpose  at times.
This seems to be the way forward, as we have discovered  at Parc in the second  half of the season.
It appears the Blues were also losing last time I looked .
Bad for Welsh rugby, but  a good set of results,  purely from a Scarlets  perspective.

Is this fair or one-eyed?

No heads up rugby = team following orders.

Orders follows those results equally diligently.

Is that a virtuous circle?

Blues hammered...as expected

Guess that's why they call it the Blues.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

Who’d have guessed at half time yesterday we had the best performance of the Welsh teams eh?

It’s no longer the Blues by name and nature.

It’s just by nature and the WRU, or just the WRU

Sometimes rhetoric is great. Actually, as the result turned out, it’s more difficult to describe.

It’s maybe an intangible Lofitness

Rugby Paper reporting today that the Ospreys, Ealing merger is close to being finalised and that the London based side will take the Swansea based side’s place in the URC next season.
Not great news for Welsh Rugby or the Scarlets are the biggest two games of the season will be lost. Although with the number of ex pat, South Africans, Irish, Scots and Welsh living in London, they have the opportunity to generate some really big crowds.

Does either governing body have power of veto on this?

Weird - ground capacity is only around 5000 with less than half seated and  limited hospitality . if  they are looking to upgrade the ground then I’d have thought better to push for promotion in the English system when that gets going again. What other funding will they get - will WRU fund as they would a region or will they get a proportionate top  slice of competition income? After the original 13 Ospreys go there and with inevitable player turn over how will the WRU just stop it morphing into a predominantly English team competing in the URC?

According to the Rugby Paper the WRU are actively supporting this merger. It will be interesting to see what the RFU reaction is?

The WRU are bound to back this merger as they would then see a huge chunk of they Team Wales wages being picked up by someone else - it’s a huge win for the WRU, just think what they could do with the money saved - they could invest it in buying the McDonalds in Westgate street and selling WRU branded burgers at £10 a pop to those drunk enough (on match day) to think that it would be good value for money.Wink

Great post, and it would really funny, if it wasn't so close to the truth!

Won’t Ealing will just get the ospretys share of funding, wru get the money for fielding 4 sides. Instead of funding the swansea ospreys won’t they just fund the ealing ospreys?
