He walks/runs with slight stoop which makes him look bigger than he actually is. We've still got Craig to appear and he may be bigger. He also carries the ball which was not a major feature of any of Saturday's trio.

What I took from saturday is that our recruitment team played a blinder in the WRU inspired chaos of last spring. Dwayne talked about systems rather than imdividuals- I'd think of squad depth rather than individuals. We're in a much better place than we could have hoped for, particularly in the back 5 of the scrum where we have lots of options and the availability of our two Tongans is less critical to the team.

So his name is.... appropriate?

Great win, as many have alluded to second half we had a lot of youngsters playing and they more than held their own.

Ioan Lloyd was man of the match for me. Excited by him linking up with Mcnicholl and our backs.
Eddie James showing great promise.

Plumtree has great rugby IQ.

Impressed by Morgan Jones and Ed Scragg for his first game did very well.

Shaun Evans with a strong showing again.

Gutting for Archie Hughes to come off after scoring.

Lineout needs real work, and the scrum,
Defence looked good.

Our Saffer forwards coach has said.....

"Don't practise until you get it right, practise until you don't get it wrong". I think they'll  get the real work. And the line-out became more reliable late in the game with just short balls to Jac Price at the front.
In fairness to the boys, it was their first game and the Baabaas had far more game time together to get organised in lineout defence.  It's good things improved towards the end.

I think they didnt like losing after decent wins at Saints and Bath. They didnt expect us to be as decent as we were.

Yeah heard Rob is off to Miami. Currently player coach at Haverfordwest, who have made a big fuss of him joining them as a player coach but from what I’ve heard he doesn’t want to play for them in case he gets injured & affects his contract with Miami.

Thanks for this. Excellent

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

Rob was understandably blowing a bit. Shings looked as fit as ever. Hope Rob’s venture in US goes well for him. Too young to retire . I keep on thinking ‘ what if’ with the last 3 years or so of Rob’s career and his Welsh caps ..
It’s so strange how he’s fallen off since that 2019 Grand Slam. He got injured between the end of that tournament and the start did the 2019 World Cup training camp and has never remotely looked the same player since. It’s such a shame as he’d become a genuinely good international level prop. To go from that to being unable to find a pro contract in Europe 4 years later, at age 30/31, is a head scratcher.

Yes Dai Flanagan took him on but that career resurgence opportunity fizzled out sadly. His prime was nothing like it should have been sadly

Always seemed a very look at me kind of player. Belongs to the rugby teams of the 90s.

Fair play, that's going to be fun.
If it's the new Miami Sharks, they just signed a deal to play at Inter Miami's training ground.
Rob on the same field as Messi?
