I don't get this though, he was originally handed 18 weeks in total, but that was reduced by 4 because he pleaded guilty!
  Not being funny, but how could he not prove himself guilty, there must be 20 different camera angles of the lashing out that he gave! |

Yes, but unfortunately there hasn't been any footage of any gouging incident going on in the whole match - and with 20-odd cameras at the match you'd have thought that one of them would have picked it up.  Two wrongs don't make a right though, and what Hazell did should have been dealt with a far sterner penalty than just 14 weeks suspension IMO.

Having seen it properly now, it is easily the worst piece of thuggery I've ever seen on a pitch in the professional era. The knee should have resulted in a lifetime ban regardless of any supposed provocation. |
