finally heard it.

what a stunning album. i have only got M83's self titled album and that was brilliant. spent alot of time listening to that, Portisheads Dummy, Mogwais Rock Action and My Bloody Valentines Loveless when i was in South Africa, but m83's new album, Hurry Up We're Dreaming is absolutely superb. straight into my list of top 5 records of 2011. a wonderfully written record.

It is a good record the M83 one, but as I was saying to M1nd3d, the tune "wait" is a complete rip off of Coldplay's "The Scientist".

anyone heard/seen Sigur Ros film? cant remeber the name. they have released the soundtrack too i think. was going to see it shown in a new place in cardiff. Gw Di Hw. lovely pint, relaxing, cross between the middle floor of clwb ifor bach (chilled out and full of soul/funk dj's) and 10 feet tall without the food and cocktails!! didnt notice cocktails anyway!! but they show music related films one or two mondays a month, Sigur Ros was the other day but missed it.

Inni. Not seen it yet.

Gw di hw is great. Always try and go there on the rare occasion I go anywhere near the centre of town.

Ye my sister lives in cardiff, so when I took the other half to see Duran Duran my sister told me about it. We went there for a drink or 2 and will be calling there again! Stunning pint of peroni too! Coldplay rip every band on the planet off and make a good living doing so. Cap if m83 have ripped Coldplay off, shame but ah well! Still a fine record.

Cold War Kids - "Mine is Yours" on at the moment. Bit disappointed. They've gone a bit fast, 1980s and poppy.

Shame, "Robbers & Cowards" was good.

Missed this thread, some good musing here.

Alright, in no order - at all.

Crystal Stilts - In love With Oblivion
The Men - Leave Home
The Icarus Line - Wildlife
This Will Destroy You - Tunnell Blanket (best gig I've been to this year too)
Low - C'Mon
Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die...
EXplosions in The Sky - Take Care (even if it was only for the openiing song which is immense!)

Not a bad year for music. There have been loads of reissues too - Dinosaur Jr., Archers of Loaf, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Walkmen...

Can't really get that M83 stuff though.

If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose.

Gwdihw is sound - my missus' mate owns it; they do a mean pint of Bare Naked Beer (a beer brewed in this little yard round the corner from me). They do a lot for local music too, fair play.

I have used the new fangled 'thanks' to show my appreciation to PE SA for bringing M83 to my attention.

It is good.

Perhaps as good as Gravity The Seducer by The Ladytrons.

I've made use of the 'sorry' function accordingly.

You didn't labour the point enough. Thus, credit to someone else.

I'm still going to rag on about "The Men". Not a Jimmy Sommerville cover band or anything to do with homo-erotic shoe-gaze. But this:
