Turner has overseen the development of young players for many years. Costelow & Joe Roberts are two of our such examples. These 3 young guys will benefit from good competition & plenty of games and hopefully as Wil says above benefit from some sort of deal to return if their performances warrant it.

Think criticising Cubby is pretty foolish when nobody knows the facts.

I agree. I'm  puzzled about Griff moving though and indeed the timing. The Drovers were playing him regularly so he's not moving for game time. Also Iestyn "moved" last month. Why "move" again? Are we off-loading a few youngsters temporarily to make space for some signings of suddenly available players?

There's  moving and then there's leaving. Being signed by Toulon is leaving; being signed by Ampthill or Jersey is moving.

I hear what you say about Griff. Perhaps it was felt that he needed a higher level of competition. As good as Llandovery are - they are stronger than most other Premiership teams - the competition in the Championship will be consistently tougher particularly in the front 5.

Your distinction between leaving & moving is also very valid. If we had not received a large cut in funding I guess these moves may have been termed loan deals. I would strongly suggest that the recruitment of a new 2nd row is imminent.

Yes...

And someone who is more ready for URC standards than Griff at the moment.

According to the Scarlets website, Griff Evans weighs in at 100kg and the 9cm shorter Iestyn Rees at 109 kg. I don't know how accurate these figures are, but if we are looking for a Jake Ball type carrier then, at the moment Griff doesn't look like filling that role. Depending on his pace, he may be a better 6 but hardly in the Fifita/Shingler class.
