In all your postings regarding the new stadium you're criticizing the residents. I'm a local resident and YES I do support the Scarlets and YES I do understansd that we need to move with the times but I don't want 450 houses built on the land - reason being that the traffic in and out of Denham Avenue now is horrendous without the extra volume of traffic that the houses would generate, and as a resident I am entitled to my opinion. But  if the plans falls through (which I don't think for a minute will) it won't be because the residents don't want the Scarlets to exist anymore - it's just that they're protecting their homes which they have every right to do!

What greater thrill could there be than to be told you played the game and led the life that showed some kid the way!

Excellent post but it's pointless wasting your typing time on this forum with your comments because all the selfish people who continue to repeat themselves will just once again repeat themselves because they couldn't care less about the people in and around the area as long as they get what they want.

If it was affecting them I bet it would be a very very different story.

Unfortunately they can't see the wood for the trees.

why is everyone missing my point? why do the residents think i`ve got it in for them personally? i`ve tried illistrations, blunt messages, yet none of you, i repeat NONE of you are getting what i`m trying to point out. i fully understand the traffic problems, i know why you are against it. but none of you are opening your eyes to see that by stopping the houses you are only going to be in a worse situation. as my pic shows. stradey WILL become another old castle works if those houses are not built. there is nothing else that is suitable to be built on that land. houses are the only answer. so when i say i hope you`ll enjoy the pleasant veiws of the wasteland, its nothing personal. its a fact, one that the residents are not looking at whilst they petition.

the whole towns traffic is horrendous, you don`t honestly think that the people that drive down sandy road and surrounding areas suddenly majicly appear there do you? these people have come through places like the motorway junction, lower trostre road, trostre etc. the rest of the town is having developments and has the same traffic problems, why should stradey recieve preferencial treatment?

its all about making the best of what we`ve got. no place in llanelli would be all smoothness and roses on a big day, no matter where the new stadium went, but trostre/pemberton is the best place we`ve got with its links to the motorway and possibility for a rail link. i`ve driven around stradey and sandy when there isn`t a match, during the college and school runs and its no better or worse than any other village in llanelli. you are not the only village to have schools and cars you know. these cars that go up and down your way travel on the rest of llanelli`s roads as well.

but my main point, which still hasn`t been acknowledged is that the residents seem to be blissfully unaware of the terrible scenario that will face them should these houses NOT go ahead as planned.

At the risk of being shot down in flames, and as previously stated, not wanting to belittle the concerns of local residents in any way, can I just point out that although there would inevitably be some increase in traffic on Denham avenue as a result of more houses, there will also be AT LEAST two other means of egress from any new site. Either through Maes y Coed, or through the present eastern gate of the car park into Stradey Park Avenue, which will itself then split into at least four ways to get out of the area, that is, via Stradey Park Avenue, Miles Street, Chapman Street, and Stewart Street. So we are not talking about 800 cars running down ONE street or even two. This is all WITHOUT CCC providing any new means of egress or access. So even allowing for the number 800 being correct, and that ALL of these were to travel simultaneously. (Unlikely) and only using the roads mentioned above, if my maths is correct, 800 divided by 6 would equal an extra 133 cars per access.

In reality, with people working in different places, on different shifts, some not working, and with children of different ages going to school at different times, the numbers involved would, in reality, be far fewer.

This is not to say that I, like many of you would not want to see an improved road infrastructure around the Pwll, Sandy Road, and Pembrey Road areas. In fact, this should have been a priority before the so-called Burry Port by-pass.

I really do hope that the hopes and aspirations of the local residents can be met without either endangering the future of the Scarlets, or leading to any more unneccessary arguments or bad feeling amongst the people posting on this forum. We should be working TOGETHER to try and achieve the above, not splitting into factions for and against. This can ONLY have a detrimental effect on the area, and on the Club.

well if your very existance as a bussiness depended on some houses being built, wouldn`t you get behind the plan, and the issue of settling residents worries?

I know your going to have a go at me for this comment scarletchick, but 450 homes, lets say 1 car per household = 450 cars they are not all going to come out at the same time to cause chaos.
