Following on from my rant about wicket keeping - we have the situation of Ollie Pope, not a recognised keeper, keeping wicket today as Buttler & Bairstow were injured and being light years better than Buttler. Do we not have a proper wicket keeper on tour????

To say Root has lost the plot is an understatement. On a very green surface & with conditions ideal for movement he firstly doesn't select the best bowler in the World to exploit those conditions & then watches Australia recover from 12 for 3 to a first innings total higher than any score posted by England in the series.

Bairstow dropped after a ton? Is he fit? Burns dreadful yet again. England a shambles. Ausses didn’t take 2 reviews that would have been out , weird!

Bairstow has damage to his thumb so couldn't play. Until we find two good opening batsmen we are doomed.
