Benny is a Scarlets hero but its not very pleasant to hear him having a go at the Scarlets. I find it very devisive when ex players have a moan about whats going on now. Things can only improve.

Baz, that's what we need, tell it as it is, we know he is right, just accept it

Speedy,

Bennys summing up of the situation is exceptionally fair and considered. Benny speaks honestly and I`m very sure it pains him to the core to express his views but in doing so he`s respecting the professionalism he has to show as a media pundit.

Well done Benny......

I completely agree!!! ClapClapClap It needed to be said to be honest, and I'm glad someone like Benny is standing up and saying that this can't continue.............and he's right, it simply can't, just like many on here have been saying past few seasons! ClapClapClap

Next season is going to be huge for us financially, and the region needs to wake up to this. Every single employee of the region needs to stand up next season and be counted, the spot light will be on them. We simply can't afford to have another dia season, we are at those cross roads now, it is make or break time I fear, and we have to produce the goods. ConfusedShocked

We will always have a great core support, but that quite evidently isn't enough now, we need more support and lots of to push those figures up and bring in more revenue.

perhaps you might want to read the thread again and take note of who posted it mate.Confused

what did you take from my statement of "benny tells it like it is"?

i`ve merely pulled him up on one thing he did get wrong and your negativity has once again blinkered you into thinking i`m kneejerking a rose tinted defence.

i also had a go at the snide remarks about the writing on the seats when these people clearly are not aware why the words are there and what they mean to the club.

Bollocks Sal, the guy is my hero, but he should engage his brain first, we have enough idiots having a pop and a sherbert at us, defend the Scarlets brand, not get on a merry go round with looney tunes.
In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

Im disapointed in benny!! Its not the first time he's been nagative about the Scarlets in recent times. We have had a run of poor seasons, but things will get better. As for the support for next season, we have a group of hard core fans which will support the Scarlets win, lose, or draw. it may be painfull but we've got to keep the faith. i dont think benny is helping our cause with his comments. Thumbs Down

WHAT THE HELL IS THERE TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT?

Granted we may have a group of hardcore fans but all clubs do; even the worst performing clubs in the country have "hardcore" fans. The point is there is no new blood coming in through the gates on a regular basis. And when they do attend, such as The Blues game, we perform so abysmally that it may be a long time before they come again.

Benny has said it how it is and he is not wrong and he is not negative. FFS, we have had a s**t 2-3 seasons and you can`t spin that any other way. Angry

Yup, I've stated this in another thread. We used to be feared playing at home, and no one liked coming to Stradey..............no matter how big or good they currently were.

We have to become a force at home again, and that is only gonna happen if we start winning consistently........at home.

We have taken some big beatings at home over the past few seasons, and consistently too, no one wants to see that week in week out, it must change!

If ex-players are also having a go, then what does that say to you about the situation the region is in?

What did Garin have to say? Always find him to be generally quite fair as he hasn't really got a preference to any region.

Benny always defends us, always gives us good press, he always has, but everyone has their limits, and sometimes things just need to be said. There's nothing in his article that's bullshit, he's bang on the button.

i can understand when the forum members on here i-e.compare the ostriches .com have a go at the likes of myself and sal and certain others for stating things as their and being condemned for being negative ,but when you start to have a go at the living legend that is benny who is only speaking honestly and passionately then it only goes to show how deep in the sand some heads are.have you thought that maybe he said it so that some of the cretins that are dragging this region down actually sit up and take heed at what he is saying?

Hes spoke the truth in my opinion. It was us who said that we needed to get an an average of 9,000 to break even as a Region.

The previous regime believed that woul;d just simply happen because we had a  new stadium.

That has not happen and our financial situation is suffering because of it and we are not able to try and sign a Ben Kay type player.

I will and always maintain that developing Stradey in stages would have been the preferred option however that was not apparently possible ( Speak to Delme and he was mortified that we had to go from there).

However time moves on and we have to make the Parc work or we will become the Portsmouth of Welsh rugby.

Paul and Rupert have made many improvements and i am very positive that we can generate more income etc etc.

We need to face home truths though and sometimes as they say the truth hurts.

I spoke to a teacher teaching at Stradey school explainning to me that so many children there support the Ospreys.

That to me is very sad but is something we need to tackle head on.

I will continue to keep the faith and support the Scarlets as much as i can .
