That's part of my concern it is like when Vincent Tan came into sort out the mess in Cardiff city and wanted to change the team colours, badge etc to something more commercial. Now hardly shows up at the club and meddles from afar.  With all these multi "relationship" deals between acquaintances, the chances  of a falling out is quite high with internal friction leading to law suits and the club suffering for years.

Swansea City seemed to be ideal model for years when it was largely owned by the fans and was reasonably competitive. The ownership model hen dwindled until the Americans bought and it has not been the same since.

we all recall big hitters like sir john  hall coming into the gane and saying they would recoup theiir investors and none dud, frabk warren lost a fortune on bedford, levitt lost a fortune on richmond . more modern guys like bruce craig is seeing bath lose millions these are high end business men who could buy and sell the cardiff speilberg and co ten times over but they can’t break even let alone make money in rugby. all you do is fund a rugby team not invest in one if buyers can’t see that more fool them

WRU spent around £3m on women's rugby in the last accounts I believe.

The losses were £7.5m for 2024.

Whittle down the number of WRU funded management boards to shuffle decisions between them and you could probably invest some substantial sums back to where it belongs.

Tin hat time….

A Margaret Thatcher like figure to swoop into the WRU to cut waste and redirect funds to the pro clubs.

Seriously do they need:

The WRU Board
Executive Board
Professional Rugby Board
Community Game Board
WRU Council
Game Management Groups
Board of MS PLC

Some of those boards have 8 & 9 sub groups. How much of what they do actually gets published to the rugby community for information or even comment. When I was involved in the Sports Council and Sports aid foundation, the costs and expenses that was submitted for a monthly meeting was appalling, no doubt it is similar situation at the WRU.
