I feel for the players.  ATM , paid well, but pro, sport is always one injury away from disaster.
Cardiff players have families  and morgages, so what happens now .?

My daughter has experienced her pro team, Worcester  go under.
On top,of after giving up teaching to take a contract, serious injury  has ruined it.all
It's heartbreaking  really,  you chase your dream , even play in a World Cup, then it all comes crashing down.

It's a sad day for  a proud club like Cardiff,  and another  awful chapter in the hurtling headlong slide to,oblivion which is Welsh Rugby . Very sad

Nope.
One way or another this’ll cost the WRU lots of money. If they support them, they’ll be putting in the money that benefactors aren’t. If they close down, there will be other costs.

The WRU are not cash rich right now, I don’t see us getting anywhere with trying to squeeze out equivalent money for every pound they have to spend on the Cardiff mess.

Feel sorry particularly for Daf Hughes, after going through it all in Jersey.

What do you envisage as the 'other costs' ?
(just for my understanding).

Honestly I don’t know, but let’s say they didn’t step in and no one else did, do you really see them leaving Welsh squad players unpaid? What about their liabilities to the URC? Who’s underwriting Judgement day? What about the Covid loan that currently sits with the clubs? I’d be amazed if a club going under mid-season didn’t incur at least some costs, given the relationship.

All pure guesswork, admittedly. My general point is that this won’t lead to a short term dividend for the rest of us in my view.

I know this is a scarlets forum, but this is very sad and bad news for Welsh rugby! I wonder what happens now and in the future?

first  thing they need to is get the costs down. likely  staff will get cut and wages reduced what is cardiff rugbys turnover?  can they sell any players?  they have signed lloyd and basham for next year, all new additions need to be blocked iuntill they not the wru can pay for them, i feel sorry for people losing their jobs  through no fault of their own and also businesess who will be out of pocket and llikely will not get monies owed tp them

Sad news that. A legendary club in the rugby world. If this keeps going, we'll be up soon enough.

This is a massive test for the leadership skills of the WRU. Nothing I have seen or heard in the past 15 months convinces me that it will not drag on and on & end in tears.

So will have all the other board members. The administrators run the entity now. This affects alot of aspects of Welsh rugby and now the WRU have promised to get involved, we're all entangled. I agree with GPR that the WRU have not shown any of the necessary ability to sort this out. Hmmm
