More effort certainly needs to be made to get gigs of all sizes at Y Parc.  With the Quinnell lounge, The Barn and the Stadium, you have 3 venues to choose from to have different levels of artists.  For example, Ebbw Vale rugby clubhouse (don't laugh) have live music every month.  They had The Answer there in October (excellent band - they opend for AC/DC for 18 months on their recent Black Ice tour), and they'll have Oli Brown (young British blues guitarist) there in the new year.  Places like Sin City in Swansea and Queen's Hall in Narberth manage to attract good artisits to West Wales, so why not Llanelli.

Of course, the Stadium will sell out for the mainstream dross that's out there, but the Barn I think could be an ideal venue for 1,000 people for good and loud rock bands.

what was the question?

The question was would it be possible for a rock band to play the Parc/Barn because groups like the Saturdays had played here (pop music) and to give rock music a chance to be represented.
oh! okay thanks for letting me know.Thumbs Up

These groups mentioned may be great to some but they won't sell shedloads of tickets.

I can see your side of the argument, but if we market it just right, i.e putting adverts on the radio, (for example Nation Radio as i've heard blues and dragons games advertised on there + gigs)lots more heavy marketing, making sure people know about it + booking a band a lot of people would want to see, put the gig on in the barn, i can think of a long list of bands who would sell well. A couple have been mentioned in the thread.
