Huge congrats to Stormers for winning the inaugural URC.

Some impressive stuff, with style and power nicely balanced.

Of course, they wouldn’t have achieved it without Mike Phillips’ advice to Herschel Jantjes in the build up to the Cheetahs match when Herschel played his only match for us. Wink

Surprised Stephen Ferris wasn’t in favour of the Stormers after the questioning of the validity of Libbok’s conversion to win the semi.

Coetzer’s interview was most impressive after the defeat.

Huge credit to the Bulls’ social media team. They’ve set some Olympian standards in their posts.

We now look forward to see what happens with the fixture list and whether opponents get rescheduled compared to this season. Much is to be learned from reading between the lines when seismic shifts like this, no Irish side(s) in the final.

The medal presentation is well worth watching.

The organising committee involved local school children to present the medals. A lovely touch.

When the height differential was noticed, many players decided to kneel to receive their medals rather than make the children stand on a step ladder.

Herschel Jantjies was the first to kneel, although the Evan Roos helped lift his medal presenter up to a similar level.

Good to see and it helps restore some values for the better.

There were stepladders there?

Just a small one about 3 steps and totally inadequate to get a 6 year old up to the height of a forward. Nice touch though and anything to keep some self-important dignatory off the pitch. More impressive was the size of the crowd and the amount this match meant to them. The commentators said thats the biggest crowd for a stormers game for years. There may be moans about their presence on here but the Saffers have taken to the URC.

(And Ulster moaning about a shortfall in video replay coverage has made me LOL)

Yes Ulster moaning about that cracks me up. South Africa is a passionate rugby country and their teams will always put it all out there. They are beatable of course but it will take a real improvement in standards for may URC teams to compete. None of us can complain about them setting the bar higher. It has to lead to improvement there is no option.

Did you see the stormers try? A was the pass from the scrum forward? B ) was the carrier down and held, then moved forward then placed the ball for the try? C was the first carrier behibd the hind foot of the scrum when the ball was still in the scrum
