Moderna being rolled out in wales today....so for those awaiting a second jab is it possible they get a moderna instead of an oxford? whats the proficiency with the moderna

Italy seem to be hitting another wave, 627 lost souls today. They've only had 11.51 million jabs compared to UK's 37.39 and the populations arent that different, UK is 68.39 million Italy is 60.39 million. So the vaccination rate per person is over 3 times as high in UK and the testing is double in UK too, this clearly shows in Italian cases and deaths sadly. Poland similarly 638 deaths today , theyve only had 6.67 million jabs in total in a population of 37.81 million. They need to really step up the speed of vaccinations in europe and we surely cannot be holidaying in these countries any time soon.

Actually Italy are on the way down again in case numbers.
Europe hot spots are France and Poland in particular. Others not on top of things either. India just had its highest daily COVID case levels yesterday.n(100k) ...you might recall a post of mine on here a couple of weeks ago where there were 60,000 non mask wearing, no social distanced fans in watching the India v England cricket. Bonkers. |

It was always going to happen & I would like fellow posters to try to explain to me why the scenes from Soho showing crowds of people with no masks or social distancing enjoying dining and drinking al fresco are not worrying. In addition the police had actually encouraged this behaviour by closing some roads to traffic to allow outdoor seating.
Please correct me if I am wrong but gradual easing of restrictions does not suggest that social distancing is not adhered to. Most of the people I saw in the pictures would also not yet have been vaccinated so if we don't see a steep increase in hospitalisations over the coming 2/3 weeks then the Government should consider cancelling all restrictions as clearly the vaccination programme has solved the problem - I think not!!!
