The young man Konstas got off to a great start in test cricket challenging even Bumrah with attacking play. Also inspired Khawaja & Labuschange to find some much needed form. Ominous signs for the Ashes indeed.

konstas could rival root and brook for his reverse sweeping ....smith was at his majestic fidgeting best
nitish reddy made a lovely ton at the end to keep india in the game ...looks like he brought his whole family along to celebrate too

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c360z2k47jwo

Welsh fire sold 49% of ownership for approx £40 million yesterday to tech zillionaire sanjay govil who also owns washington freedom major league cricket team
He has the great steve smith, glenn maxwell , travis head , marco jansen on their books so who knows we may see them in cardiff next seasonTongue

London spirit 49% went for an eye watering £145 million .Shocked...Valuing a side that only plays 1 month cricket at £300 million is a huge figure? The likes of prem sides everton and wolves are only worth £500 million

The good news amongst this auction is that from the total money raised, 10% will go straight to the recreational game. Proceeds from the 49% sales will be divided between the 18 first-class counties and the MCC. If a host decides to sell part or all of its stake, it will hand over 10% of what it receives to be divided between the 18 counties and MCC

Its expected to raise about £500 million....so £50 million to grass roots and about £25 million+ per club ....In this economic climate thats money not to be sneezed at.
reading between the lines it seems the clubs didnt want to sell shares in themselves so invented this hundred tournament. Purists dislike the hundred, but if used sparingly it clearly can help fund the other versions of the great game. Lest we forget glammie posted £316k losses in 2023
