or

'US Aid gave funds to the BBC..who are state sponsored media'
Actually US Aid, along with a dozen other NGO's fund Media Action...which has some links to the BBC but is a totally separate charitable entity and reliant on NGO funding for their global outreach.

or

'US Aid funded convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's foundation'.
In fact it was paid to namesake Jeff Epstein, CEO of the Kaiser Foundations ( hospital funds)
It was even funnier as the original Epstein died in 2019, and this money was moved in 2023.

Fact checking is great fun.

If this is an example of Musk’s work with DOGE, he’s going to spend more than any savings he makes!!!!

Have these errors been publicised in the American press????

They have, and globally too, but it matters not...when your Trump/Musk what you say on social media carries the weight of believability.

With the fact checking guard rails dropped by Meta etc you can basically post anything you want....there needs to be a degree of twpness to believe it all mind.

There's now just under $500m of food aid and medicinal supplies backed up in the system ( in the US or global ports and warehouses) as part of the US Aid close down.

Say what you like but that is hardly the best way to spend taxpayers $$.

The truth is the Chinese are very savvy in how to 'navigate' the legislative controls at most Western countries borders, and can easily 'manage' countries (Africa in particular) where 'influenced' outcomes can apply.

Shein is a great example. They have a direct to customer model that has seen them become the biggest apparel retailer in the world...no shops...no regional offices...just cheap goods sold on line shipped directly from China and with the values falling below the 'de minimis' import tariffs that most countries have (including the EU, UK and US) - in essence trading duty and tariff free.
Most companies have a range of 10-12,000 apparel items for sale ( the likes of H&M etc)., Shein has 550,000.

It is a totally opaque entity, you will struggle to find who actually owns them, you have no chance of finding their manufacturing platform (all in China), and certainly no internationally recognised accreditation is applied.
By not allowing access to any such entity, China hides behind the 'you have no proof of any violations' position.

On this last point, my last company was the global apparel business PVH (parent company of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger) -they have just been tagged by China as an 'unreliable entity' a. couple of weeks ago.

This because they followed US legislation forbidding them and all other brands to purchase cotton from the Xinjian province ( which produces about 15% of the world's cotton) due to forced labour allegations on the minority Muslim Uyghur population.

A claim China vehemently denies, and to prove a point singled out PVH for this action. PVH has some 16% of its revenue from stores in China. The Chinese people follow the governments directive and will certainly stop shopping at these stores.

The Russians are not the West have believed they are. The reports of 95,000 Russian dead is conservative compared to the Ukrainian estimate of 750,000. The North Koreans are being decimated and the Russians/ Koreans are losing  1,500 daily. They are just throwing soldiers into conflict.

The Ukrainians are superb fighters, the Cossack mentality still persists. The Ukrainians were the best soldiers of the WW2 Russians.

Do not forget most Army analysts said Kiev would fall in 3 days, 3 years later still vastly out numbered they are still holding their own.

Being afraid of Putin is how this conflict has been dragged out, in other respects the World of War has been changed immeasurably by drones and drones and drones.

I know one regiment in the UK are on high alert as they have become specialists in drones warfare.
No one thought a drone could take out a 62 tonne tank, and the Ukrainians are probably now the most up to date formidable fighting Army on planet, outnumbered,  out gunned, their nuclear arsenal removed years before.

I'd give them nukes and stuff Putin.

USA 340 million people GDP $26 Trillion

EU 450 million people GDP $22 Trillion

Russia 146 million people  GDP $ 4 Trillion.

It's all about weakening Europe , because a strong and united Europe is powerful.  Divide NATO and suck up to Putin, that's the end game.

the ukrainans are fine soldiers but the war has bern extended due to finances and weapons supplied by the west and in the main the usa.  trump will cut that off and ukraine will lose.   i dare say the eu will fight to the last ukranian but i gurantee none will be sending a single regiment to fight there.    no one is going to give ukraine nukes and risk  being nuked by russia, it’s a non starter and it’s a great way to end the world

RR1972...

Give em nukes, they once had the biggest amount of Nukes in their Country once.

I'd be more concerned about Iran finishing theirs....its happening.

And we have a useless weak POTUS and his cabinet of mutants trying to contain all these problems.

Trump's ego followed by the swift opening of his mouth has led to this ridiculous situation. When staying strong in support of Ukraine was starting to turn the screw - not on the battlefield but in everyday life in Russia he throws away a carefully concerted NATO response with one liners so that his southern rednecks can sing & dance to his tune.

Inflation is now at its highest since June 24, Gas, groceries, electronics, cars, appliances, housing and utilities are all up, and one of the slogans in the election was egg prices, which are now at a record high.

It's all self inflicted and his ridiculous tariffs which haven't kicked in yet... will create riots. It affects all except the rich.
