Where the heck did that performance come from.  Down to 14 men after 2 minutes (another dangerously high tackle, when will they learn) yet they go on and dominate the rest of the game.  Argentina looked like they were a team playing with 14 players and looked shell shocked for most of the game, they didn’t look like a team that were seeded above England going into the match.
Well played England and congratulations (as much as it hurts me to say so).

Ford’s kicking was superb as was England’s defence and line speed. England will top their group now for sure.

Really depressing. I muted  the sound a few times and then switched channels with about 20 minutes to go.

"Manu Tuilagi, destroyer of worlds..." Mullins explodes in ecstasy. Not a pretty sight. FFS.
What's going on?

This result suits us fine, as we can afford to lose one of the games against Fiji or the Aussies,  come second in the group, then face Eng in the QF, where we have beaten them before Wink  !

In all seriousness,  Eng must be applauded on a fine all round display.
Their defence,  & set piece, totally  dominant , with Ford pulling the strings.
Surely now the debate is over who should start at 10 for them.
Apart from those superbly taken drop goals, Ford's organisation and kicking were top drawer.
Argenia however, we're truly appalling.
This is a team who beat Eng in twickers in the last year, run SA very close, and beaten NZ and Aussies .
They could'nt do anything right, partly due to excellent Eng pressure  but also their own inaccuracies,  which seemed to get worse as the game progressed.  Michael Chekka, will be having  nightmares after this.

The mute button does have its uses.

Well done England. As Tigerburnie is at pains to tell us Ford is by far the best 10 in England. If Farrell had not been banned Ford would have been on the bench - little things & all that.

England's defensive effort was excellent in all fairness and they completely outplayed a poor Argentina. Personally I thought the red was harsh.

Spot on with all this.

Montaya didn’t work out that his constant chirping to the ref was actually antagonistic. Betranou at SH had a shocker.

Red card.....Curry should have gone lower....Ford was excellent...Argentina were dreadful
In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

An interesting showing by a beleaguered England team.
Can they sustain this level of performance (as even now the rabid English press are handing them the prize on the back of one match) as they have been very up-and-down of late ?
It was a well played game by England, no doubt about it, but against very under-powered opposition.

As Loz said about 7 of them were in the WC Final 4 years ago . I think they will kick on well now to win the group 🤔

The major downside of ITV coverage , is having Dallaglio and Woodward in the studio, particularly , when England are playing.
Luckily, I can dive into the kitchen during the break, to make a cuppa, and therefore avoid them LOL

Forget to mention the above ... Agree , awful from Mullins.
Putin and his mate Assad have destroyed more worlds than we can dream of, so we need to avoid such crass sporting analogies...after all its only a tackle at the end of the day !

Fortunately all the Welsh games are being shown on S4C as was the France-New Zealand game.

Argentina were awful, and unprepared for the challenge.  Ford was excellent and needs to stay at 10 for them to succeed.
