Not including any comedy album covers. The clash one is great. That bass guitar is on display in the states. I'd love to go and see it. I guess Sgt Peppers is quite iconic.

Pink Floyd wish you were here:

Mars volta, Deloused:

Alabama 3, Hits and exit wounds:

Always liked this red sparrowes one:

Max richter, infra:

I have no idea how to post the pictures on here, but Green Day's "American Idiot" & "Twentyfirst Century Breakdown" are faves of mine.
It's not always about where you end up, it's about how you get there.

Anyone able to post a picture of the Beatles' famously banned "Butcher cover" of the US album - Yesterday and Today?

They were fed up with the way Capitol Records kept on re-ordering their play-list on the US releases so had a photo of them dressed as butchers and covered in blood whilst they held mutilated dolls and cuts of meat.

Needless to say, it was banned and a new cover was pasted over the old one. These now sell for huge sums of money.

One of my favourites is ELP's "Brain Salad Surgery". It scared the crap out of me when I was young.

There are some brill ones on this thread, above.

I was watching a documentary about punk in the UK and some 70s band, can't remember who, had an LP cover made of sandpaper so it destroyed the albums it was next to in your stack.

Genius.
