I believe Tribune Nord is behind the posts.

We have had good crowds in there before and they’ve created a big atmosphere.

OK just over three weeks to go. Match tickets & boarding passes all printed ready to go. Our hotel is very well situated just South of the old town centre. A short walk (800/900 metres) north along the smaller Nive river brings you to the main river Adour which runs through the city on its way to the Atlantic.

This walk takes you past the Cathedral Sante-Marie, Bar Remy, Katie Daly's Irish Bar & on to the Basque Museum which is located near the joining point of the rivers. A short way further north brings you to Les Halles de Bayonne ( Farmers Market) which opens early every day including Sunday & closes around 1400 hours & the tourist office.

For me Sunday morning is my designated tourist day so an early start to attend the Farmers Market & a breakfast of Bayonne ham with some white wine to be followed by a visit to the Basque Museum which opens at 1000 hours. A trip to the Cathedral may follow before a lunch at Le Chistera ( 7no already booked). Time allowing this will be followed by a visit to the Xmas market before I settle down to watch some European rugby at Katy Daly's.
On the Saturday kick off is 1400 hours & the

Stade Jean-Dauger

is about 500 metres west of our hotel. Anyone with anything of interest to add please feel free.

You might find another market, open air stalls, on the opposite side of the Nive about a third of the way towards where the rivers join. You’ll probably need a google to see its location. It was more interesting than I had initially anticipated.

It might be that Pottoka, the charismatic Bayonne Rugby mascot, might be appearing at the Christmas Market maybe with a player or two. An eye on the Bayonne club’s website will tell you if so.

A visit to the Bayonne club’s website shop in the town and not far from the ground might well give you more choice than the portakabin in the stadium, if you’re looking for souvenirs. The casual shirts are very good quality and good value for their price, more so than some of the replica shirts, depending on your preference for shirts.

Wishing you all the very best for a superb trip.

Been keeping an eye on the weather forecast for a few days for Bayonne. The BBC only goes to 30th November but regular daily highs of 18-21 with plenty of sunshine. Looks like I may have to dig out my Treviso shorts!!!!!!

Keep tuning in as I will keep updating.

Be prepared for a dry crisp cold and/or rain and hopefully, you’ll all be pleasantly surprised.

Safe journey Gareth et al, will see you in Bayonne Friday evening/Saturday morning.

5 years ago I seem to recall the Celtic bar ran out of tap beer on the Friday night before the game😀😀😀😀
