Would there be any interest from posters in an organised trip for this game. Lovely part of the world at a good time of the year for the weather. I would appreciate any feedback from posters who have attended this game in the past with particular reference to airport transfers, hotels etc.

Many thanks in advance.

Airport transfer is very easy. Bus into mainland Venice drops off at the train station, where you can get a train to Treviso.

Homeward, a bus regularly runs from the bus station in Treviso to Venice airport. Direct flights to Treviso onlu used to fly from Stansted, but that may have changed.

Regular bus service on match days from the bus station in Treviso to the ground. Beware, 19.35 here is 20.35 out there. I nearly got caught out in the recent Parma matchLOLLOLLOLLOL

Treviso is a lovely city to visit. Only a few euros for a return train journey into Venice.

It is a superb place to visit. So much to explore within Treviso itself.
Plenty of great choices there.

The hotel near the Celtic Bar is well-located and was always reasonable when we stayed.

Just checked and it was the Hotel Continental. Plenty of rooms and a very good barman. It’s less than 100m from the bus stop to the ground and the Celtic Bar is a few more metres beyond the bus stop. Last time I was there was 2019 so others on here will be able to comment more accurately if it’s changed since then.

The fish market is brilliant and worth going in the morning. There’s a bar or two that serves elvenses of Prosecco and a filled roll (forget the name) that is much beloved by the locals.

Top info EO as usual. Continental sounds great.

With the post-Covid price rises, it may well not be the bargain it once was. Hopefully, it is still good value.

Would also recommend trying the Fritto Misto, provided you like seafood and fish. Lots of great produce and variety and a good go to choice of food, no matter what restaurant you are in.

Thanks for the info. I am collecting prices etc & will print findings next week. The Continental Hotel have been contacted & they are holding a large number of rooms for a potential party until 30/06/2024 when they have to make a decision. My plan will be to book a block of rooms on a free cancellation basis & take it from there. At the moment we have 5 confirmed interested with another 5 seriously considering.

GPR, does doing this tour in September preclude any possible away trip for the Challenge Cup, or would you consider doing 2 trips in 3 or 4 months?

A little way out of the city centre, but I can recommend the Consiglio Maggiore Hotel in Treviso.

GPR, considering it as well, will do this or a challenge cup,  but an expensive 14 months, new kitchen & bathroom, culminating in the Lions tour, see how the money goes. It would be great to catch up if we do travel it will be the same three. Will probably spend a day in Venice as well.
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!
