I was getting quotes of £250 ish from Bristol to Marco Polo, but with a stop outwards and inwards. It was with EasyJet. Easy to get to Treviso from the airport in Venice.

Nothing firm yet for September just getting budget costs etc. If Challenge Cup throws up a good trip could well be Fever Three.

How long was the overall flight time with the stop? Ryanair from Bristol to Marco Polo on 20th was around £120 outwards it now quotes over £300. Return flight on the 23rd more reasonable at around £80.

It would be great to catch up with you & your carers Dai. Apparently the train service from Treviso to Venice is quick & efficient. If the trip goes ahead from 20th - 23rd a day in Venice on the Sunday looks promising.

He was right, as far as we were concerned. On the first trip we didn’t bother going to Venice. However, if you’ve not done it before, then while you’re there you might as well. Remember to buy the daily tourist tax ticket/admission when leaving the station.

OK folks as promised some provisional costings so those who are interested can make some decisions. Two flight options at the moment out of Bristol on 20th September, returning on 23rd.
1. Ryanair leave Bristol 1420 arrive Marco Polo, Venice 1740, return 0945 arrive Bristol 1105. Basic cost £397. Please note no confirmed seats or extra luggage costs in this figure. 2. Easy Jet leave Bristol 1240 arrive Paris Orly 1505, leave Orly 1705 arrive Marco Polo 1850. Return as above with Ryanair 0945/1105. Basic cost £205. Again does not include confirmed seat or extra luggage. Transfers - assuming we have 12 travellers we can budget £50 each for getting to & from Bristol from PYS. I also have a price for a minibus collection at Marco Polo to the Treviso hotel of £420 which is £35 each based again on 12 - this includes the return journey on 23rd. I have provisionally booked 3no double rooms & 3no twin rooms at the BB Hotel Treviso which is 300 metres from the centre & 600 metres from the train station. Budget cost per person for 3 nights room only £184. So in summary, depending on which flight option we take the budget cost for the trip is either - 1. Flights £397, seats/luggage say £40, hotel £184 & transfers £85 = £706 2. Flights £205, seats/luggage say £40, hotel £184 & transfers £85 = £514 The recommended hotel the Continental may become available after 1/7/2024 - we can compare costs if & when it happens. First decision we have to make is do we want to go & the second is - is it worth almost £200 to fly outward direct as opposed to having 2 hours in Paris Orly for a connecting flight. If we get firm names with which option you would like to make I will book the flights. Of course at this stage that would become non refundable. |

I have been looking at this today and cheapest I found was Birmingham to Verona. £123 pp return flight.
Average Train times down to Treviso 2hrs 30 mins. Flight time on Friday was good but returning Sunday arriving at Birmingham 23:25. There is a flight from Gatwick to Bologna as well (flies out on Saturday 07:45 am this was £125 pp return. Its a difficult one! Will deffo think about the above.....
