Thanks both for that info. I had noticed the Verona flight on Skytracker however it is slightly more expensive than the option 2 from Bristol, requires a 5 hour round trip train ride as opposed to a 30 minute minibus ride each way & returns on the Sunday late.

One of the purposes of the fever tours initially was to cater for some who maybe preferred to leave the heavy lifting to someone else. It turned out indeed that on our first trip to Castres last December we had two tourists well over 80 & a lady with some mobility issues so the organised collections from arrivals to front door of the hotel worked well.

Of course the arrangements will not suit everyone with regard to cost/days off etc & that, of course is fine.

Will revert on this. Submitted application to the House Sports and Social committee Chair with a covering letter explaining Leicester and Treviso over a 2 week period as 'essential' ( without suggesting exactly what is essential).

Application submitted with a brochure of cruises around the Caribbean included.

This approach is as obvious as an Ospreys back line move, but we'll give it a go.

Make sure that the cruise is during the 2 week period. She'll be out of the country then and you'll be free to go LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL

OK we have so far had a resounding confirmation that option 2 with a 2 hour stop over on the outward journey in Paris Orly is the preferred option. We have 5no confirmed as I write. My plan is to wait until next Friday & then book flights over the weekend for those confirmed.

Of course this in no way precludes others joining after that date but we have to start somewhere. Transfers & hotels will be firmed up later as will match tickets, places of interest  etc. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am of course saddened by the news received from Stradeyboyo about the latest apparent contractual mishandling at PYS. I refuse to let this season blight my lifelong support of the Scarlets & firmly believe that change & improvement have to come. These trips are only a small part about the rugby. By far the biggest part of it is the camaraderie within the travelling group along with the sights, sounds & food/wine of the visited City/Town. So fellow supporters don't allow the poor management going at PYS to put you off travelling.

Well said GPR.

BTW, to what particular mishandling are you referring? EDIT Have just caught up on the relevant thread.

Superb words from GPR.
As posters  know, apart from being a dedicated Scarlet,  I have clear views which I express on SF.
One of the most important  things about this forum however,  is that it has allowed me to forge friendship with fellow like-minded supporters.
Life is short , and friendship is one of the most enduring of things I value greatly.
Thanks to GPR, we have another opportunity  " to go again ", support the boys, and enjoy the comradeship of wonderful scarlets supporters.
Sometimes you need to step back and say " thank you" !

For those red wine lovers going to Treviso, you might like to try a trip where you try plenty of white.

On one of our trips, Mrs EO and I ate seafood or fish for the whole trip and we accompanied it with white wines still or with bubbles and it was most enjoyable.

Now I love my reds, including the full-bodied Italian range, yet even I thoroughly enjoyed this “self-deprivation” Wink

One of the excellent meals we had was a lunchtime tasting menu. Impulsively, we decided to have a wine accompaniment. We were the only people in the restaurant until another couple arrived so it was a bit of a risk. Anyway, it was brilliant and VERY inexpensive. Before we had finished, a couple of groups came in closer to 1500 and it seemed that was the rest of Friday afternoon written off work wise.

Just checked on the website and they’ve now got a Michelin Star.

Consequently, the prices have soared.

Update - we have 9 confirmed. I have not booked the flights yet - apologies - you can blame the US Open!!!! I will tomorrow publish the details of the three flights =- Bristol/Orly, Orly/Marco Polo, Venice & Marco Polo/Bristol with baggage options/costs & seat costs. At that stage I would ask everyone to re-confirm &, of course anyone who has not confirmed you are welcome.
