Henson was too shy to do a presentation speech to the squad so he left the building ...he didnt feel confident in that environment

....so instead of discussing it with him the geniuses at the WRU punished him by dropping him in his prime for 30 months...brilliant 🫣

Sadly all too common in sport and business where  people have talent for a particular thing but lack personal confidence to address and audience, even quite small.  Sometimes, it just a time in life - Grav used to have terrible self confidence and then became a very gregarious TV presenter in later life.

Sadly many managers lack the people skills to develop not only talent but character. As I mentioned in another post, I wonder how Henson career would have changed had not gone to the Ospreys amongst the Galacticos and stayed with us.

One of the other things not mentioned in the clip, is the effect of concussions, which often magnify not only issues with reading, writing but also issues in dealing with people and crowds.

Shame its another talent that never achieved its full potential

The most talented player I’ve seen in the professional era. We’ve not even come close to seeing someone like him since.

In the clip Scot Q seems to agree that Henson just got in his car and left lunch and Henson says that Rupert Moon called him to come back.

In this article (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/gavin-henson-reveals-life-changed-30856399) he does share quite a few things about his mental health including having Autism - whether try or not ?

So whether he was dropped or just given "breathing space" from the stresses of international rugby

Another potential missed opportunity would have been continuing with Steve Black whom worked with Johnnie Wilkinson. Apparently, Black was highly rated by the Welsh squad  at the time as mentor and motivator and possibly could have moulded him slightly differently than Scott Johnson

I really don't see what Ken Owens has to do with this thread...
