Congrats to the 4 Scarlets selected - Murray, Rogers, Hawkins & Plumtree. Scarlets 4, Ospreys 9, Cardiff 8, Dragons 5 & outside Wales 12 - a sign of the times indeed. That would suggest some extra call ups for the South Africa game.

Big disappointments for Roberts & Johnny Williams in particular but they have paid the price for early season form. One Scarlet forward against 4 from Dragons tells a story.

I don’t see the disappointment in Roberts not being included, I can’t remember the last time he had a really good game for us. JBW will definitely leave at the end of the season now he’s been overlooked again.

I think Macs should feel more unlucky than Williams and Roberts tbh because Hennessey snuck in ahead of him. I like Hennessey mind.

Realistically, Macleod and Elias would have had good cases. Maybe Ball if we'd had a run of good games.

The only one who is currently fit who I think could feel hard done by is Henry Thomas, with Coleman and Assiratti ahead of him. I'm guessing age counted against him.

I meant disappointment will have been felt by Joe & Johnny. I can undersatnd fully why they were omitted. One thing that has come is that the squasd above which is the same one I saw on WOL did not include Sheedy whereas the one on the BBc does????

Sheedy also shows up on the WRU site

Although believing what the WRU says takes us down a completely different rabbit hole.

Plumtree didn't appear on a few of the versions I saw too but he is definitely in.

Williams, Costelow, Roberts, Mee, Page, Thomas will all feel disappointed tbh but I'm not sure there is a compelling case for them to be included. That said, I'm not sure there is a compelling case for some that are included either e.g. Assiratti, Belcher, Coleman, Dyer

Probably best because with the budget constraints we couldn't afford the PTSD therapy after playing the AB and SA.  Seriously though, where we are at the moment it probably suits us to keep the squad together, regroup, repair and get ready for the derby and cup games.

Oh, selfishly, I'm thrilled we don't have more involved. Helps us immensely at club level.

Or if he plays at all!

He's a custom built sub for Wales at the moment...covers 10/12 but isn't first choice at his club in either.

The coaching team selecting the squad are from Ospreys, Cardiff and Dragons, so its hardly surprising, they have looked after their own.
With 12 of those players not available for the South Africa game, which will leave only Ben Thomas and Hawkins to play centre, I expect a few more call ups.

I’ll never begrudge our players representing Wales, but I am absolutely relieved we have many getting a rest rather than broken with Team Wales.

Don' t think you are far out there Roy possibly Belcher at 16. My interest really is in who plays against the Boks on 29th which of course is outside the window so we lose 12 players back to England/France.Assuming no injuries or call ups the existing squad throws up the following possible 23.

15. Murray 14. Rogers 13. Beetham 12. Ben Thomas 11. Adams 10. Edwards 9. RMW
1. Gareth Thomas 2. Lake 3. Assiratti 4. Rhys Davies 5. Carter 6. Wainwright 7. Jac 8. Faletau

16. Belcher 17. Southworth 18. Coleman 19. Fender 20. Morse 21. Haqrdy 22. Sheedy 23. Hawkins

Quite what the Boks bomb squad will make of that replacement front row is anyone's guess but it ain't going to be pretty.

The selection of Asseratti sums up where Welsh rugby is at the moment.
She asks why i still can't answer. I guess its in the blood.
