Whilst I only have a fleeting interest in Wales for obvious reasons I am looking forward to some of the match ups. I am particularly keen to watch the progress of England. Fair play to Borthwick he has rewarded the boys who did so well for him in the Summer down in Argentina. 6 Lions on the bench is a bit of statement.
Got a feeling that Borthwick has this team going in the right direction mid point to the World Cup.

Had a chuckle this morning an article in WOL had Craig Bellamy down as the new Welsh rugby coach - but with the WRU nothing would surprise me.

How is this for a reflection on how far Welsh rugby has fallen - the first post on this thread is about the excitment to watch ENGLAND ! BTW, someone mentioned that tickets for our AI (fitting) games are now heavily reduced.

Very sad reflection Steve & fully deserved I would add. On the subject of tickets the Argentina game is a sell out now courtesy of NHS workers - 5000 getting in free & 20,000 sold at silly prices. You can fool somje of the people some if the time.......

True Rugby fans will watch almost any game and appreciate the skill, effort and passion on show. I couldn't count how many "great tries" videos I have watched over the years from Internationals to school games - all have been joy to watch whether it is somebody waltzing through the opposition untouched or a big lump bulldozing his way through, they are all special.

Very true - I have spent many a happy hour watching some of the great players from the past. The Welsh sides of the 70's, France down the years - magicians. It is so sad that apparently we now have someone making decisions who cares little for that history which for me is part of our rugby DNA.

That is the problem when Reddin talks about the SRC he frequently mentions the "old rivalries" as justification for the investment and dismisses it for the regions as justification for the cull. If you were to ask Bath fans about the rag doll games or Gloucester, Leicester, Northampton most would say their best games against Welsh side were with the Scarlets. If they were asked would they like a regular fixture in a cup or league, most would be enthusiastic as it would spark some passiion. Ask the same people would they watch West Wales Wizards which was a blend of Scarlets and Ospreys, they would would pause and consider because even to me a side playing in Llanelli that doesn't share the Scarlets branding doesn't feel right.

The Wales v SA autumn international could be very interesting with the SA teams demanding £22000 pound for every player not released for that weekend and the Welsh national team being shunned of all its English and French based players.
It looks like it will be Wales A vs SA A, all at the same time as the WRU are trying to charge people full price for the match. With between 70-80 thousand unsold tickets for the autumn internationals this may finally send a signal to the WRU that rugby is self funded - that if you fund the grassroots and regional game properly then the best players stay in wales making it possible to field your best team for every international match. Play all your international matches during the window and that helps the regions to perform better and this brings the crowd and interest back

Got my email from the WRU about joining their membership scheme and promptly unsubscribed from all future communications.

I watch a lot of international rugby on the box...but the only games Ive enjoyed in the last 2 years are those that dont involve Wales sadly who have lost 95% of matches under the appalling Tierneys regime... The WRU are 100% to blame

@GPR I'm totally with you on this one, I feel truly apathetic to Wales AI schedule (fortunately I will be competing in national comps over here and have the perfect excuse not to watch them) I'm looking forward to seeing how England progress (they have an embarrassment of riches with the young players coming through) and also seeing how France bed in their youngsters. I'm hoping the form of Leinster has a knock on effect with the national team and this is the start of Ireland's downfall (tired of hearing them bumping their gums about how great they are) It's strange that I will make a point of watching the English and French matches on catch up if I miss them, I can't imagine wanting to waste time seeing Wales get pumped by 50, 60, .....80 points

At the moment when you look at the other international sides, its like being invited to a join a table at a posh restaurant but you haven't got anything to wear or cash for the taxi home.
Sad feeling
