Tongan powerhouse, sione timani as signed for carmarthen quins.

the 6ft 7ins,and weights in at 19 st,has played club rugby in new zealand.

the  24 year old is a big abrasive ball-carrier and a typical tongan forward, says quins team manager.

he is not coming over at the end of his career,he is looking to get a foothold in the british game,he as 2 caps for tonga.

anyone think this guy could help fill in at the scarlets this season, with our lack of depth at lock,he certainly sounds if he could make an impact .

No, but it's a good shop window for the lad. Surely someone from the region will keep an eye on him if he's any good
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Would they have a choice? Surely the prospect of him playing for the scarlets would be too big a carrot.

A Tongan lock, playing in the Welsh Premiership? Doesn't sound like the type of second row we would want anywhere near our side. Afeaki was once captain of Tonga, and he wasn't the greatest pro.

Funnily enough I spoke to Brian this afternoon and suggested this signing could be handy for the scarlets in a crisis.

The stadium may change, but the dream will remain the same!

And what was the reaction?

Wouldn't we have to register his as a player to use him, particularly if it were for a HEC or A/W game?
