Jon Lord ex-Deep Purple/Whitesnake and recently a highly regarded classical composer has died aged 71, as i'm a huge fan of Deep Purple I thought i'd share it with fellow music fans, especially the forum's lovers of fossil rock:)

Cheers Jon

Really sad day. Co founded the original Purple.

Paice would arguably have to be the guy associated mostly with the Purple brand but it was always Lord, Blackmore and Gillan for me.

Made the keyboard a real instrument of rock. Love his haunting keyboard on Child in Time.

Sad, sad news.

Deep Purple were never my bag but it is a shame when people's musical hero's pass away. The older we get the more we lose.
To be a Scarlet is as good as it gets
