Sadly, Hefin passed away this morning.

Hefin was at one point chief exec of Scarlets ( Llanelli RFC in the 90's) but more importantly was number 8 for Llanelli when they beat the All blacks, 404 games and represented the Barbarians.

Absolutely dreadful news. I was fortunate to get to know Hefin over the last few years and I can't express how decent and respectful a man he was.

Yes lovely man. When Mr Ian came over last season I asked Hefin if I could take him up to the Phil Bennett lounge and he sorted everything out. He was most helpful. By all accounts he was unlucky not to have played for Wales. Head Perffaith Hedd

Hefin was one of the greats of Llanelli Rugby, so unlucky not to have Welsh caps. My sincere condolences to his family.

R.I.P Hefin, didn't really know much about him until I watch 'We Beat The All Blacks' and learned that he started at number 8. He is part of a very small group that can say I Beat The All Blacks. Condolences to Hefin's family at this time.

Really saddened by this news. A true gent and a Scarlet through and through. Condolences to his family and friends. He was genuinely a nice man and always had a smile and a hello for everyone he knew and everyone knew Hefin.

Sad sad day. Rest in peace Hefin.

Very very sad news, a Great Scarlet and superb no 8, he starred at my very first game and now he can light them all up there. Condolances to all his family and friends and he one was one of the few, who did it, beat the All Blacks.

RIP Hefin and thanks.

Absolutely. I saw him play a number of times - an excellent 8, he was very unlucky to play in the same era as Mervyn Davies, otherwise he'd have had a drawer full of caps.

RIP, Hefin.
