Topic: ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED Posted: 15 September 2004 at 9:55pm |
I was absolutely disgusted and appalled by a minority of OUR supporters tonight (swansea home game). Ok we haven't had the best of starts to the season and some say we are not going forward fast enough, fair points. but to openly sl*g off the coaches and the players is totally out of order.
There was even at a point today, home supporters cheering opposition and then when we did a great tackle didn't do or say anything. In my opinion he should have taken his jersey off and put a swansea one on. Absolutely shocking.... I don't care if I upset people here, but these kind of people are not needed they are absolutely disgusting. We as fans have the same obligations as the club, they SHOULD provide us with good attractive winning rugby, but we SHOULD provide them with our support through thick and thin. not being so thickle and moan and whinge whenever we get a rough patch. for god sakes people we have to stick with this team. we weren't complaining last may when we became the FIRST Welsh team to win a cross border competition. we weren't moaning when we were pouring drink down our throats when we were celebrating winning the celtic league.
I for one would rather not stand in the same part of the ground with this type of fan. I think I should move.

actually it's a general topic about the loyalty of some supporters of the CLUB not about a game.....
maybe if you genuinely read the post and actually looked at what the topic was about before jumping the gun. yes this happened at a llanelli game but it's the SAME fans that go to both......

There - moved it for you Salmidach. Have to say I totally agree with all your points xx
Thought the officials were a bit rubbish but The team played really well. Wasn't the officials' fault we missed the kicks and I too was really embarrassed by some of the support. Even our Bin was telling one of them to chill out xx

Why as this topic been moved?
It's a Scarlets general as it is about the supporters of this club not about a bl**dy game.

Sorry - we seem to be posting at the same time Salmidach! I moved it as it was about behaviour at tonight's game. Happy to move it back if another mod agrees I should - I'm a bit new to moderating so please forgive my enthusiasm xx

To be fair I don't think he was saying that cheering good rugby was wrong. I think Salmidach was objecting to the reason for the cheering and the sl*gging off of our players by our supporters xx

Acknowledge a good move, but never cheer the opposition. The home supporters energy should be saved for supporting and shouting for the home team, simple as that folks. Even if the team aren't playing at their best it's up to us as supporters to lift the team, because at the end of the day that's all we want is to see our team winning. Remember that we wear the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC shirts for a reason.

salmidach,i think that you have a cheek to condemn people for openly applauding good moves in a game of rugby,i thought that your language left a lot to be desired and in fact your general attitude towards tonights game was unacceptable.please bear in mind that we all love our club but some of us are no so biased as to be able to appreciate good rugby when it is played, despite who plays it.we had our oppertunity when we were 2 men up but blew it,yes the officals didnt help matters, but tonight we were our own worst enemies.if you take offence at this then sorry but that is my opinion.

Its hard to sing and shout when the team give you nothing to sing for ie friday night why was it so quiet. I am not slating the llanelli side tonight either i feel they have mad a huge improvemnt on last season and they will continue to which is one of the reasons i am looking for to the game saturday. what im trying to say If my my team lose to a side who have played much better rugby then so be it! they dont deserve to win.

Bin How dare you have a go at me. You bring the jolly rodger to a rugby match and when you feel like it you have a go at people when YOU like. It wasn't a cheer for the opposition having a good play it was a "come on swansea" cheer, from a scarlets supporter.
Yes I had a go at the officials tonight but don't forget your bunch all night had a go at Nigel Owens straight from the K.O.
Let me just re-itterate what this topic is about. (no apoligies for the caps)
**THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT A MINORITY OF SUPPORTERS, WHO COME TO MATCHES AND MOAN ABOUT THE CLUB FROM START TO FINISH** Nothing to do with tonights game
