Good player but don't really see the logic for Cardiff. They already have Navidi, Botham, Robinson, Ellis Jenkins. Front 5 is their weakness & has been for many years so why spend on another quality back rower. There are some good young 7's in the Cardiff ranks time for us to have a little look.

Young is younger than the above highlighted players, but not by much, and also Turnbull. So there is some sort of succession planning there as far as their back row in concerned. Young has also played at 6 & 8 for Wasps, so covers all the back row.

The fact that his old man is the boss has absolutely nothing to do with it all

The obvious link between Thomas & Dai is just that but why should the Directors at Cardiff choose to agree? Add to the 4 named above Will Boyde & you have 6 players who can play at 7 next season. They also have Turnbull & Lewis-Hughes at 6 & Ratti & Moore at 8. Clearly a few will be leaving for next season.

Perhaps we should see that as an opportunity now ????#

I'd have Will Boyde and Turnbull back, even though Josh is 33 now.

I was gutted to see both leave in all fairness. Turnbull has been a huge servant of Cardiff with an amazing consistency & longevity considering the positions he plays. Added to that they are both local boys which makes them leaving all the harder to take.

The Thomas Young news has got me wondering if Ellis Jenkins is in the final year of his contract. He signed a “long term deal” in 2017.

Especially I think Josh left do largely to Easters picking McCusker at 6 over him ( apart from Captain to cement the appointment) and then once he’s gone  Pivac comes in and gets rid of McCusker ! Very annoying and yes to have him back for a couple of years would be great and Boyde

Unfortunately that often happens, I remember Emyr Lewis leaving us to go to Cardiff as he wanted to play 8, 2 months into his first season at Cardiff Scott Quinell goes to rugby league, so we lost 2 world class 8’s in the space of a few months.
