Why would WRU fund an English club on an ongoing basis? Maybe there’s something in the short-term as part of the takeover.

As Ealing are already self-sufficient financing wise, it would be some boost to get another £4 or £5m. That’d help their stadium building plans, as well as sign some bigger hitters for the squad.

There’d be no need to go to 10K and a bit capacity so something between 5 & 10K-ish might be enough.

Also, would the O’s departure from the stadium mean a payment for giving up on a lease early?

Its my understanding that the Swans hold the lease for the Council owned Swansea.com stadium and the Ospreys pay rent to the Swans.

Then Swans have a committed income stream from a sub-lessee/tenant. It’ll depend on what is included in that document.

If O’s rent is nominal, exiting won’t cost much at all. Thanks for the link.

This article states that the Ospreys no longer have any liabilities for the Stadium, which probably explains why, when the Asian backers came on board, there was talk about building an Ospreys stadium at Llandarcy.
