Wasps gone into administration and relegated. All 167 staff redundant, very sad day for them and their supporters. I wonder where most of the team will find clubs? France perhaps?

The URC has this afternoon confirmed that the Round 6 fixtures between Cell C Sharks v Ulster, and Emirates Lions v Glasgow Warriors, are postponed. The Round 6 United Rugby Championship fixtures involving Ulster and Cell C Sharks, and Glasgow Warriors and Emirates Lions, have been postponed. Due to gastroenteritis infections, the United Rugby Championship have confirmed that it is not possible for Ulster or Glasgow Warriors to field full playing squads. In order to ensure a duty of care towards the players involved, and given the medical advice received from all key stakeholders, the United Rugby Championship has made the decision to postpone the fixtures. The league will now move to examine potential dates to reschedule the games and will update in due course. |

Startling stuff considering there’s a big distance between those locations. Wonder where it originated?

Very interesting how Scholtz has become a constant in the Bayonne match day 23.
Going from not being able to stay at Scarlets to then leaving Wasps (superb timing) to cementing himself in Bayonne’s side is a superb turn of events for him. As GPR noted Bayonne have had a pretty good start to the season playing against quote a few of the top sides with success.

Watched the match, considering that most of the welsh squad played in the lower leagues they were outstanding in defence for 65 minutes before the intensity got too much for them. |

Great win for Cardiff, the players looked ready for the mammoth task ahead and they showed a lot of heart and guts. Really big win that was.

Great win for Cardiff tonight against the stormers, an enjoyable match to watch. Stormers rolling maul was devastating but Cardiff’s defensive discipline was outstanding and they kept chipping away at the scoreboard throughout the match, not going to the corners and risking losing possession.
Their lineout functioned well throughout the match (just like it did against us) and the 2 halfbacks won the kicking game (out of hand). Just a point of note - Cardiff hooker Dacey went off following a high tackle from the stormers no8, clashing heads, referee only deemed it a yellow card offence, despite it being far more dangerous than Louis’s red against Zebre, add that to the tip tackle on Tom Price last night (which every commentator said was a red all day long) and the welsh regions really are getting a raw deal with the decisions of both officials and TMOs this season. Had both yellow cards incidents been committed by welsh players they would probably have seen red cards being issued by the officials. The welsh regions/WRU need to get some sort of clarity from the URC refereeing team, even if it is to point out the inconsistency of the officiating. If the IRC is serious about stamping out on dangerous play then both the incidents over the weekend should have seen red cards issued, and reviewed at a later date.

Is it just me or does anyone else not smell something a bit fishy with Glasgow & Ulster squads going down with the same bug 300 miles apart. Clearly the Sharks owner was unimpressed making some pretty disparaging remarks about the URC. Not a good look really.

Well done to Cardiff. Very impressive victory. With Anscombe's ongoing issues I would suggest light duties for Priestland next week. It appears that both Cardiff & the Scarlets have made errors in signing new 2nd rows for this season. Turnbull, a great warrior of a player, still first choice ahead of the far bigger Timani. It is pretty clear that good, affordable 2nd rows are as scarce as rocking horse poo.
