Pretty much a full strength XV there really, so good to see Aaron on the bench.

I'll be honest, the only area I see England having an advantage is the back row..

Gatland going with 100% first choice 23, while Jones is experimenting with new caps & untried combos. Really not sure what naming Heinz & Underhill as 'vice captains' is about, either.
First game after lay-off and pre-RWC training will always be tough at Twickers, but a real chance to take victory and keep carrying momentum to Japan - Wales have to see themselves as favourites in the game, and enjoy living with that tag. Front-line injuries are my concern.

I don't see that personally. Billy, of course, is a brute but our back row is more mobile. If Wales play to their strengths they should win comfortably. A lot will depend on rustiness and who has been match prepared the best. Great to see Aaron on the bench. Hope he gets 20/30 minutes and starts in Cardiff next week.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen much of Wainwright but in Curry & Underhill England have 2 very physical players there ala Warburton if you will. I think Aaron will be 30 minutes, possibly with Wainwright moving to 8.

Please no injuries. Regardless of whether or not it weakens us, it’s just heartbreaking for a player to get so close to the World Cup and not make it.

From Gatlands comments, barring injuries, this will be close to the side to face England next weekend as he plans to use the Ireland home match (& training) to give fringe players the chance to impress.

Also Rob & Samson have minor injuries & should be back into consideration over the next couple of weeks.

Indeed. Given that Wales have their first-choice side out, whereas England have a few fringe players in the selection, you'd have to call this one for Wales... of course, there's always the risk that the players (at this point in the cycle) have been flogged to death as far as fitness training is concerned, and not done enough on group or individual skills... but I'm hopeful of a win.

Thanks for that - I wondered if there was a reason why Wyn had been preferred to Rob.

Tomos Williams picked up a shoulder knock in training today so is set to miss out on the trip to Twickenham with Aled Davies replacing him.

Certainly not in terms of talent - but he is used to the squad and system (so doesn't have to learn all that stuff) and is experienced (so you know what you're getting, more or less). There are certainly more brilliant younger players 'out there' but Japan has come a bit too soon for them I suppose.

Curry & Underhill are both very good young players but, in my opinion, Wainwright has more potential. He is explosive and has a huge engine. For me he has a huge future bearing in mind he is still 21.
