Tier 2 Munster Bristol  Racing 92
Ulster Wasps  Toulon
Tier 3 Scarlets  Bath La Rochelle
Connacht Saints Clermont
Tier 4 Glasgow Harlequins Toulouse
Dragons Gloucester Castres/Montpellier

So, if I've got this right, as it currently stands, we'll play Briz, Wasps, Racing & (naturellement) RCT in the pool stages, 2 home & 2 away. Cracking.
Couple of updates:

Connacht have been switched with Glasgow (presumably on account of being more Irish), and we will play either Briz or Wasps and Racing or Toulon, depending on the pool draw.

It's Welsh-Anglo league, but with 4 qualifiers from pool of 12 rather than 1 from 4.

Be ready for some low point-scoring qualifiers. Best way to look at it is, it's a (hopefully) one-off system for a bonkers season - so let's give it our best shot.

Starting by putting a marker down at the Stade Mayol in a couple of weeks...Wink

Blues fans up in arms.

Despite being 4th in their Conference, Connacht, have more league points than Glasgow so go to Pool 3, so Pro14 league points count.

Re qualification, Blues however are 6th in their Conference, but more league points than Dragons but go to Challenge Cup.

Doesn't affect us I know, but there's no consistency there. PRO14/EPCR whichever is/are responsible, are digging themselves in to a hole here !

Should all be points based as if it was 1 league which it is just with 2 conferences. Honestly be a lot easier if it was just 1 table this swapping around is pathetic and ridiculous.

The blues not being happy always makes me smile, but they do have a valid point

Benetton were ahead of the Blues after round 13 therefore they are the side who should feel aggrieved. Yet I agree with the sentiment, it does smack of amateurism and an Irish decision for an Irish side. I know this season was an anomaly yet there’s been a problem with the European qualification every year since the format of the league changed and it’s about time they publish a rule clarification for next season explaining when qualification will come down to conference position and when it will come down to points.

One change from the initial projected draw is that having defeated Edinburgh last night  Ulster now move into Tier 1 in the draw.

So we now know that we will have home & away ties against either Bath or Bristol following the conclusion of the Premiership along with home & away against either Toulon or Racing!

Racing’s ranking stays the same even if they’re healthy enough to play, and manage to win, the final?
