If Kalamafoni is injured who will be our back up 8 now? That’s my only worry as although Cassiem always gave his all he wasn’t big enough to match Kal and our options at 6 are very strong, especially with Shingler returning.

If that's true, 4 confirmed as leaving, Will Griff coming in, that means there are a fair few more exits to be announced. Bearing in mind we are short at lock and No.8, could be another 5 to leave!?

Is that six from the squad we started this season with? Because Kruger retiring, Ratuva and Cummins already left, Jake Jac and Cassiem to follow?

it was discussed here after last Crys16 event with John Daniels. With the internationals now around more often, we dont need a squad of 60 players. Yes i expect a fair few more outgoings. It was said of the 9 youngsters that we wanted to keep - 7 had been retained. Jac Morgan and we assume Osian Knott are the 2 we failed on. another 16 renewals done and dusted as well from that meeting (off top of my head). but it was also said that we were "heavily investing" at lock. no idea if this is still the case. It was also touted that a player was in talks but his position was kept under wraps. not sure whats happened here either (thinking back, did they mean Dwayne!) |

Yes but more on the number of players i believe, not the amount of exits. 10 could leave, but only 4 coming in for example.we are currently on 60 i believe? that's being cut down to 54 (from memory)

Carwyn Tuipulotu or Blade, if he stays, I’d guess.

Think I’d rather keep ahold of Cassiem than Blade. Always available during internationals and far more reliable with injuries. Good luck Uzair!!

Are these players leaving just because were cutting our cloth with the Covid budget hit we’ve taken this year, or are we freeing up money 💰 for a revamp?

I think it’s been well documented, including on this thread, that the squad is being cut due to the current financial restraints and also the fact that our internationals should be available more frequently next season.

Sorry to see him leave. His first season was a bit hit and miss but after that he’s been outstanding. Candidate for MOM in most games and seems a genuinely nice guy. Good luck for the future.

Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

Cassiem had an excellent second season and was genuinely popular... this season, Kalamafoni has taken the 8 shirt, being a bit bigger and harder to stop.
Pity to see him go, but it was to be expected - good luck, Uzair!

It’s a forum so it’s a mix of facts and conjecture which makes for good talking points. Not always obvious who’s knows what’s going on and who’s just guessing.Reason I asked is because someone I can’t remember on here said something along the lines of “exciting times ahead” on the signing front and apart from willgriff I haven’t heard much. So there’s a clash of opinion there if we’re just scaling back the squad a-bit which I fully understand under the present financial climate .
