The one he is renting out is in Battersea and I looked on googlemaps, it's about a 30 min commute to the House of Commons so it's no excuse he needed somewhere closer. Of course, a much longer commute to the Caribbean, perhaps the one he's claiming is nearer Heathrow?
He's just a greedy bastard. |
I assume you mean Geoffrey or have found yet another greedy bastard!!!!

Has anyone seen him in PMQs this morning. He’s tried on a few occasions to question some work Starmer did in 2019 rather than offer an apologetic to the house for trying to get some of his mates off the hook and for trying to change the whole process around declaring of second jobs, transparency etc. He was told by the speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, to answer the questions asked of him and was told that the whole idea of PMQs was for others to question him and not the other way around. Twice this happened and I. The end he was warned that the rules are the rules and that the speaker is the one in charge (not Boris) What’s the bets he’ll now try and get Sir Lindsay Hoyle removed for his position, because he’s stoping Boris and his mates getting away with things, just like he’s tried to do with the leader of the parliamentary standards commission.

One of the reasons they didn't like the last speaker. Boris' opening comments following the 2019 GE to the HoC was how much better the new parliament appeared to him.
What I find baffling is Drakeford. He clearly dislikes Johnson and his ilk thoroughly. Johnson et al are a clear product of England's social structures. They have a political hegemony there stretching back centuries. We're governed by them more often than not despite them never winning a national election in Wales in democratic history. Drakeford thinks we're better off in the UK. Eh? How does that follow?

Theyre making so much money on the side their actual basic salary is irrelevant...With so many fingers in so many dodgy pies, side jobs, cash for questions, insider dealings, endless privileged rule breaking lobbying , multi million contracts for each other and their pals, newspaper columns probably ghost written, unauthorised use of westminster to carry out these side jobs, media jobs, memoirs too Id like to ask these cash grabbing tories 1 simple question, why did they enter politics if all they want to do is make a ton of money through the back door with shading dealings and insider trading? why didnt they just line their pockets in the free market as lawyers, merchant bankers etc Did they really go into politics to make money through the back door and a bit of infamy on the side?

I know this story was published in October last year but it’s only now I’ve noticed it and it’s quite unbelievable so I thought I’d share it on here anyway. Turns out the government bought 29m (at the very least - as they won’t put an exact figure on it) “Coveralls” at the height of the pandemic and yet only used 500,000! Yes, they bought 60 years worth of PPE at Covid prices! Turns out 6 of the 11 main companies that they bought them from came through the VIP lane (who’d have guessed!). That’s £700m pounds of taxpayers’ money wasted and yet the Tories have the gall to accuse Labour of being too untrustworthy to be let in charge of government money! Quite breathtaking corruption.

We already produce wealth. More per person than Spain does in fact.

I'm happy to admit that I'm purely a layman when it comes to politics and economics. The above is purely my opinion. I looked at the figures and came to my own conclusions. It doesn't offend me in the slightest if people don't agree but I hope it is at least food for thought.

"It'll never work" is purely opinion RR. Why not? You mention Civil service jobs. A sovereign Welsh state will have it's own civil service. The majority would be redeployed in that capacity.
We can have our own currency. Iceland has its own and it has only a tenth of our population. Moody's rates it very highly. There are other options but that would be my preference as it would allow us greater fiscal leverage in tackling our economy. There is an argument to say that the £ is too strong for the Welsh economy. A small devaluation in a Welsh currency would benefit exporters and make for more jobs, bring in foreign reserves as we restructure. The value of our own currency would pick up slowly as our economy improved.
