Scarlets wrestling training Chris Rees academy in fforestfach

I'm pretty sure that Charlie Faulkner of the renowned Pontypool front row was a judo expert, and I'm sure there are other examples where other disciplines help... balance is pretty important in the front row, as well as sheer strength.

Didn't someone once use ballet training in rugby to improve balance, maybe with Wales?
Manu Tuilagi used ballet to get over recent injury

The best judo exponent to wear the Scarlet shirt was Selwyn Williams. Not the biggest scrum half but any opposing forward who broke through our line out would find himself flying through the air. He'd drop the ball on landing and we'd get the scrum. Nowadays Selwyn would be red-carded for not lowering the opponent to the ground safely.Ouch

Looks like you're right – DD definitely showing some good size! Hoping for a real breakthrough season for him this year. With Josh likely to end up with Team Wales once fit and Cubby seemingly struggling to get back to his best, the 7 shirt is definitely there to be won!
