I thought in my lifetime I would never see a player at 8 come close to the Amazing Scott Quinnell. Now I have Sione Kalamafoni!!! What a rugby player!!! Sam Costelow what a talent!!!

Couldn’t ask for anything more out of Big Kal, what a player he is. I can only hope Carwyn is learning everything he can from him, what a player to develop alongside.

What a player, still wish we had Cassiem here to back him up. He took some monster hits from their forwards, i was worried he’d get injured with his style of play, but hes hard as nails.

Cassiem played alongside him effectively also, a very instinctive player.

I agree however we cannot expect him to play every game with that level of physicality and need others to take on the workload.

There's only one as far as I'm concerned-Chris Hala'ufiah-the best I never saw.

Meh. Not so sure. He was good for a period, but wasn't as consistent and didn't start games regularly like every player on that list did.

Another player who never had a bad game at 8 was Dai Hodges, never had a poor game in any position asked of him.

Hear Hear. I remember he was outstanding in one match at Welford Road. So good, we barely missed SQ. Poor call by ref when he called a knock on by us when in fact Lewis Moody (?) knocked the ball backwards.

Kalamafoni has come in and shown serious class and durability - And big credit to those involved in bringing him to Parc Y Scarlets. His class is evident in his hard running, big defensive shifts as well as being a a rock at the base of the scrum. That last bit we have not had since Lyons. We have seen players show glimpses of it, but Lyons did it so well in a retreating pack a lot of the times. Kalamafoni has done it as well every time our scrum is under pressure. One of the best signings we have ever made in the pro game in my opinion.
