It's too long, has too many guests and the main purpose seems to be to show off the huge and expensive BBC Wales central Cardiff monstrosity which took the place of a long awaited and much needed bus station.
The participants probably have to follow trendy woke BBC orders and include as many women as possible, along with a gay and ethnic person. If they want to save some time /money, maybe they could have just one person to represent the combined gay/female/ethnic guest so that the remainder can have a serious rugby discussion, in a program 20 minutes shorter

Jiffy more often speaks a lot of sense.  He’s played the amateur game, professional game and has even sampled playing down under (where the professional game has dominated its northern hemisphere counterparts - rugby league).
He’s right, the WRU need to look at the purpose of the Premiership and the way that feeds into the regional game, and how the regions are then run and funded.  He highlighted the lack of competition in some positions.

spot on, the presenter immediately cut away to talk about something more "positive?" more innane and fake more like........tom shanklin walking arond cardiff asking random people who scored the try in a match 20 yrs ago? he meets the great gavin hastings and wasted the chance to interview him and asked him the innane try scorer question, sad

other issues , non rugby often and deemed important on this rugby show, but apparently the running of and the future of our national sport is deemed trivial, pathetic.

Good point Dic!
About time Jiffy came off the fence ,and made a significant contribution.
He is right of course, and much needs to be done in Wales to
re- structure the game at age grade level  ,and also the community  game, leading  up to and including the championship(semi -pro).All of which underpins the regions.
The Dragons  surely cannot carry on they way they are,  playing in a ground that hasn't changed that much since I watched rugby there as a student in the 60's.
In fairness the WRU made a good start in begining to reorganise the women's game, not just with or and retainer contracts,  but supporting the age grade system , with proper organisation,  coaching structures  etc.
This will encourage more girls more girls to play the game, and consequently "grow the game" ,so by the time we are picking an international  team there is a much bigger pool of talent.
This is the point jiffy jade in fairness , so the WRU should be using the same root and branch method in the Mens game.

Moving on to another point of pundits  on these 6N shows, I agree about the points made about Gareth Thomas.
How the hell does he get on these shows. He's an embarrassment!
It's like a lot of former players and celebrities, it's all about self perpetuating  their image, and being in the public eye. There are of course lots of lucrative media opportunities  now, even for those with little talent , and with very little meaningful comments to make
I stood yer on tanner bank

Can't upset the WRU establishment.

Well, he will have done. Good on him.

There's a huge gap in the Welsh media for meaningful rugby programme(s).

BBC have always been confused about what is a sports programme and what is light entertainment unfortunately.

I took to podcasts to watch meaningful rugby talk quite a while ago.

I'm less worried about the participants selected for the programme than I am about what content they are steered in to talk about.

Here's the Jiffy clip, in case you can't be bothered to watch the whole programme. Note, he wouldn't be deflected by the red herring, covid excuse.

About time the people with some influence started saying it as it is. In fairness to Jiffy he has been saying about our lack of the next 15 for many months along with our lack of ball playing centres. A thoroughly researched, comprehensive strategy for the development of all our promising young rugby talent should be the No 1 priority for the WRU.

Excellent stuff! I sense that for many years Jiffy has felt fed up on these programmes, but here he decides to really go for it.

What he is asking for sounds suspiciously like what (I assume) the Irish have been enjoying for many, many years - and, OK, to some extent that may be helped by their government's tax breaks, but it can't all be down to that.

The WRU needs to put more money and more structure into developing young players, the 'pathway', and the regions than it is doing... the money needs to be carefully targeted, not wasted. That needs clear planning. It doesn't feel like we have been getting that sort of leadership for a long time.

The regions have provided enough talent for a competitive welsh first team coached by gats. But scratch the surface and theres no depth. Imagine if wales 2nd or 3rd team play the equivalent all blacks or even english side, theyd get walloped. Wales A is a crucial missing piece of our jigsaw too. Its a great tool to test those on the fringes of the main squad. Wales u20s doesnt do that

Yes Roy the A team is  part of the jigsaw but only a small part. Players under 23 need regular competitive matches against similar age group teams with a league table structure. The four Irish, 4 Welsh & 2 Scottish URC teams could form a 10 team under 23 league with home and away fixtures. 18 meaningful games with a restriction on maybe 3 over age players per squad to allow for some time for injured players to start their road back to fitness. Perhaps games could be played on Wednesday evenings which would attract a TV audience and generate some revenue.

Agreed or they could possibly play on the morning/afternoon of the senior match to reduce the cost of travelling.

Good point, there is a massive hole in the midweek, considering so many players have barely played , its incredible that rugby hasnt brought in these midweek fixtures.  In rugby everything happens on the weekend only for the past umpteen years

I caught up with it last night totally dire, that clown dressed as the 3 feathers, the amazing (but incorrect stat) the italy and scrum halfs are welsh speakers, the presenters panic whn jiffy rightly called out the wru to the inane punditry of josh and siwan. What a dreadful show
