She’s gone, after about 45 days, what a complete and utter shambles, the UK is the laughing stock of the western world.
We will now have 3 prime ministers in 2022 to go with 4 chancellor of the exchequers.

Braverman is vile, makes Patel look like a well balanced caring type. For a KC barrister, presumably trained in well-thought out argument, she ends up ranting about imaginary scapegoats a lot, stoking culture wars and trying to fuel hatred. Truss putting such people in positions of power shows how terrible she is as PM. Or the influence the extreme ERG have. In either case, we are in for a poo time with this person anywhere near government.

"Well said" dr martinov.
It's hard to pick hard pick even amongst Tories LOL, a more repugnant individual as Braverman
You are right dr martinov, Patel looks caring by comparison.

The wider picture though, was not summed up by any media commentator, or media commentator, but by a senior tory backbencher of 17 years. Charles Walker.
Just listen to what he has to say on BBC news online, a damming indictment of this shambolic government of shysters.
How Truss has the gall to turn up at the commons after sacking her chancellor, wrecking the British economy, putting jobs at risk, increasing inflation, and the cost of mortgages.
If it wasn't so serious, it would be laughable.
Now she sacks Braverman, as well. As much as am hugely glad to see her go, the whole thing is bizarre!

Anyone seeing Truss speak, may be impressed, if this was a Yr 10 public speaking contest.
Unfortunately, it's not, she is the prime minister, and more wooden, than the woodentops.
The major issue however is her judgement, and to say its flawed would be generous, on an extraordinary scaleConfused !!

She packed the cabinet with box ticking supporters of hers, which mirrored her own progress in politics, doing more "flips " than an acrobat at Billy Smarts Circus!
The woman is out of her depth on an extraordinary scale, making even Teresa May look like a superwoman.
Very soon, her premiership will hopefully end, and I sincerely hope the humiliation will be so huge, that we will never hear much from her again.
Knowing the rhino serous style hide that individuals like her and Johnson have, one never knows.
The stench lingers
(On a linked note, I am going to open a related thred on poverty)

The clues were there remember the cheese speech !! she came to my work when she was a minister never spoke once her lackies wouldn't let here answer our questions. woeful

If Johnson runs he's going to get in isn't he? If it goes to members.

It’s going to be down to Tory MPs, not the members.  Over half of his own MPs wanted him out earlier this year, so they will look incredibly 2 faced if the chose him again.
Plus he’s currently being investigated for deliberately misleading parliament over partygate, so putting him in the running and then possibly having to resign as an MP, if found guilty, would make the party even more embarrassing, farcical and despicable than it currently is.

And all from an 80 seat majority (which is now 71). LOL

Said it before but they should take a very close look at how they select their leaders. I look forwards to the next one being the rabid Braverman, for example. Or Johnson again.

It's just been chaos.

You both make very fair but totally opposite cases. Logic legend would clearly suggest that Boris is a non starter but then you have to factor in how twitchy the Tory MP's are right now having seen the total & utter mess Truss has made in such a short time. With Boris in charge, even with all his issues, they still felt that they were in with a fighting chance of winning the next election such is Boris' skill at winning votes.

It would not surprise me one dot to see him being the only candidate to get 100 MPs backing.

It would be the final kick in the balls for the country. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if there are protests and marches round the corner for a general election.

The country sure would benefit from an imaginary 40 hospitals and seeing pictures of his daily cosplay.

Plus it would seem an ideal time to install a PM who's taken bungs, supported corrupt colleagues, broken the law, lied in Parliament, tried to change the ministerial code to save his own skin, tried to cover-up a sexual assault accusation of an associate and generally overseen one of the most chaotic Governments we've seen, until very recently... oh, and is still under investigation for misleading Parliament.

Plus there's the issue of who exactly would work with him in the cabinet, considering 52 MPs resigned from his Government in protest over his actions and leadership.

Thought they were scraping the barrel of political talent before? Well, they'd be atomising the barrel and extracting every last dysfunctional protein they can from the dead wood cells that remain.
