Why would there be no Wales players?

Players have two weeks completely off after SA, three weeks then of pre season individual conditioning away from the club, then back in for pre season on Aug 22, and then are allowed to play at the discretion of the coaching team.

Clearly they won't be available for Bristol, doubtful for Dragons, but can't see any reason why at the very very least Jonny Williams, Cawdor, O'connor and Patchell won't ready to go on Sep 16.

EDIT - I should have taken the time to read the earlier posts which basically say the same thing 🤦🏻
what coaching team? If wales are paying 80 per cent of the salary they are deciding who plays i’d guess

Chances are we’ll have No internationals for Leinster & Edinburgh home, Munster away and all SA games

I remember that being the case last season on the away trip.

Even SA14 would start to question the repeated coincidences…..

With 4 of our first 6 games home we need a fast start. All 6 of our games scheduled for before the Autumn International window are very winnable. Then we have Leinster home & two away games in South Africa without Internationals.

At least they will also be playing without internationals. The game against the bulls will likely be their first team vs our seconds because of the six nations.

Repeated far too often for them to be so.

Can you imagine the Irish agreeing to their biggest derby game between Leinster and Munster to be played on the first weekend of the season with both teams missing most of their international players? Absolutely no chance of that!
The crazy decision to play the Scarlets Ospreys fixture on the first weekend of the season will greatly reduce the gate on the one game per season when the Scarlets can guarantee pretty close to a full house. This will really hurt the Scarlets financially at a time when the game is desperately in need of as much cash as it can get.

Whether deliberate or coincidental is immaterial,I think. It's similar to debating the difference between gross misconduct and gross negligence-either is a sackable offence.

I think people actually believe the Scarlets are the only team with poor scheduling. Poor kick off times, worse refs, worse injuries etc

So we are the only side with this problem?

Yes I agree about getting off to a fast start.  Bit of a pain to be playing the Ospreys first up, but that aside, it looks like a very exciting start to the season for us. AND all six games are winnable in my opinion. Even the 7th game, Leinster at home with both teams missing their internationals will be a good opportunity for us.

They say the league isn't won in September but those six games could set us up for a knockout place at the end of the season.

It's frustrating that neither us or the Ospreys will be fully loaded as if we were that would be a hell of a way to kick the season off.

I'd be keen to see you answer Seagultaf's question:
"Can you imagine the Irish agreeing to their biggest derby game between Leinster and Munster to be played on the first weekend of the season with both teams missing most of their international players?"

Why don't we stand up for ourselves in these situations and speak out? I don't see why this fixture needed to be scheduled for the first weekend, given that many internationals could be missing from both sides?
