You could play 3x30mins with a bigger squad to ensure that the 23 in the frame for Ospreys get a chance to get a run out against opposition and not a Scarlets training day.
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Is Shingler fit? I only ask because no-one seems to think he should be in the squad let alone starting. Is this blatant ageism because I haven't seen any falling off of his qualities.

Great to see the forum has confidence this game will go ahead!

Ticket sales appear to have picked up a bit, really looking forward to it, WRU permitting.

Team selection will be fascinating now that the likes of McNicholl, Patchell, Costelow, Cawdor, Lousi etc have had no game time prior to the season. I wonder if they held an intra squad game this weekend instead.

I bloody hope so!

Whose our back row? Not sure lezana blade and sione can offer enough at breakdown tbh josh has to start at 7 for me. If not morgan  could clean up there , snith is another good jackler for them. If lake plays we need to target their line out they also have no decent 15 so another area to target

Good shout.Lake couldn't hit the mud if he jumped into Bury Port harbour, and I fancy we got a few jumpers to steal a few-all the more important to pick players with pace to take full advantage.
I fear you're right about the back-row,and was looking fwd to see Macleod come on v Newport.
Having said that,Booth cannot be relied upon to pick his best players, and his selection might well help us.
Peel said that the 2 friendlies  were trials,so I'm not sure what to make of things now.

Love the analogy about Burry port harbour Dic..LOL   Lake is good forward, but recently has struggled with line out.
Not long ago, we were saying the same about Ryan Elias!
Regarding back row, it's great to see josh back in the mix. He will undoubtedly have a big part to play. this season.
Its right you have identified the breakdown as an area of concern, with Morgan present.
ATM, i would start with Blade, Kal & Lezama. Blade for a tall man, is a better jackler than you think, but obviously not a specialist like Cubby. Lezana is more of a tackler and carrier.
If we are experiences problems can bring Josh (fresh) off the bench.
Regarding centres, I cannot see Dwaine not picking fox (whatever we think), who will probably pair up with Jonny Will. Going forward maybe inside centre maybe the best position for Jonathan.
Looking forward to the fifita /Sam L combination in SR. The theory sounds tantalising, but are they both two peas out of same pod??
Previously our successful combinations had Vernon Cooper and Chris Wyatt in the SR. Two very contrasting and complimentary players. Vernon did the spade work allowing Chris to do other things, with his athleticism.
When fully fit I reck Jac Price will fill the slot in the same way in the Vernon mould. He's still learning, but has impressed with the dog he has shown, with carries, huge number of tackles. Hopefully will continue his encouraging development
I stood yer on tanner bank

I know the game called off wasn’t ideal but you could swear it’s the first time these players have ever met each other.

One legitimate pre season match before playing your rivals on opening day is not ideal.

It's not ideal at all. Hopefully they will have played a full contact match within the squad instead of the Dragons game.
Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Going up against proper opposition is the team getting re-familiarised with being punched in the face, tactically and physically, and dealing with those "punches" which they just won't get in training.

Well, he's very keen on getting us into some KO rugby and himself into contention for the RWC, according to the Rugby Paper today.

Wait and see is the real answer to Foxy. I think the williams should be a centre pairing even if they are both 12’s naturally.

How short memories some people have one of the vast centres ever to play for us. Yes he lost bit of pace was outstanding in the Cardiff game away last year and is still a quality player. I don’t understand the need to knock certain players on here. He good enough to start for us and we should be behind him.
She asks why i still can't answer. I guess its in the blood.
