As expected some big calls and notable players in and out.
Well done all Scarlets, including Josh, Dane and Sam!! That back row!!! Potentially 4 numbers 7's and still no Young, Basham, Botham or Navidi!!! Wyn Jones not available? Is he injured?

Carre, Wyn, Thomas Young, Moriarty, Cawdor, Sheedy, Jarrod Evans, Foxy, Halaholo all miss out. Think Conbeer a bit unlucky. Great to see McLoud in but that really gives us some big issues for the next couple of games. Is he totally ready?

Agree with you RR - what happens if Faletau goes down??? No Moriarty or Navidi. Who covers 15 - surely he isn't thinking of Priestland. Hawkins good prospect but he doesn't start at 12 for Ospreys in big games. Wainwright hardly featured this season as pointed out by Steff. Has the look of a little bit of experimentation about this squad which is understandable apart from the fact that Pivac said after the Italian fiasco last 6 nations that every team he selected from now on until France 2023 would be his strongest available team. Looks like the end of the road for Foxy which will take some accepting when he sees that Hawkins in deemed ahead of him. I would advise our resident bookie's mate Ladram to seek out the odds on Foxy departing pre World Cup to the land of rising sun.

Congrats to all the Scarlets guys called up. Particularly pleased for Sam C, Dane and Josh.
Although the AI's squad always has an experimental edge to it, it's sending a clear message to JMac, Foxy, Cawdor, Moriarty, Jarrod Evs, Halaholo, Thomas Young, Roberts (the Drags hooker--bet he's chuffed he left Ulster). Feel a bit for Conbeer and Giles, not so much that they haven't been called up, but that Dyer has. Rhodri Jones before Carre isn't a rugby decision is it? |

I didnt realise all those players like navidi, biggar, wyn jones were out for the whole autumn? Big blows
This squad is odd in parts, where to start. No full back cover, no johnny mac? hawkins over halahola, blacker over cawdor, why is priestland there? no sheedy who looked superb for brizzle last weekend, no jarod, no moriarty...Yet cuthbert in with no game time, rhodri jones back in the mix, no carre too. Macleod class player but not played much lately? As usual with pivac, a lot of it doesnt seem to make sense to those on the outside. Lets hope he knows something we dont. Good luck to all the new caps , costelow looks dangerous in open spaces, dyer is a surprise hope he goes well, excited to see tshiunza, could he start at 6?

It’s a really strange decision by Wayne selecting 4 7s and no cover at 8. Really strange selecting Rhys Priestland as Sheedy at Bristol has been playing really well. Glad the youngsters are being given a chance. Sam, Dan, Dyer and Christ. I would of like to have seen HOC being given a chance but I first and foremost he needs to be the starting Tight head for the scarlets. Cawdor missing out doesn’t surprise me as he’s not been playing well. Good luck to everyone involved and I’m looking forward to going to the Principality stadium for the Argentina game.

Apparently it is Wil. Carre was given conditioning targets on return from South Africa and has fallen short according to Pivac at the press conference going on at the moment. For me another example of Pivac giving all and sundry too much information about players - by all means give the players feedback personally but done tell the World and his wife.
