Got some nice pork chops from the butchers & had them with mash, seasonal greens & a cider & mustard sauce.

Ref air fryers, we use ours lots but there are only two of us in the house, well worth it but as GPR says if you want volume then the price goes up.

Ok decent weather for weekend so have lined up - tonight a chinese selection - prawn toast, spring rolls, salt & pepper squid followed by crispy duck with pancakes & Schezuen chicken with singapore rice. Tomorrow a couple of fillet steaks on the BBQ & Sunday roast chicken dinner featuring our first polytunnel cauliflower of the season. Get in there!!!!!

Good BBQ weather forecast for the coming 7/10 days - get out & enjoy the sun. We are having a BBQ with a friend staying from Kent this weekend which is my wife's birthday weekend. Also going to smoke a leg of lamb in our weber smoker on Sunday.

Sounds lovely jubilee!Looking forward to the inaugural Scarlet Fever Members Summer Barbecue in your place in the lovely town of Llandeilo then GPR . You would have lots of Nom de plumes turning up with silly names like the Oracle and Scarlet Pimpernel Wil Chips etc and we can play a match the face with the name game 😂 ( A free bar would be especially enticing of course 😁) Eastern Outpost may need to bring his tent coming from Suffolk 😉

Had my best mate & his partner round for BBQ over the weekend. Started with prawns on avocado with rose marie sauce accompanied by some 2020 Chablis followed by some fillet steaks with trimmings ( homemade coleslaw, salads from the poly, jackets & mushrooms) accompanied by a 2020 Saint-Emilion - very quaffable indeed.

Sounds excellent.

Went to our local last night and their night of Johnny Cash music from a live band that were very good. The food truck that came was a Caribbean themed one and was probably the best food truck grub we can recall.

We had jerk chicken and curried goat, both of which were sumptuous.

Curried goat is one of my favourite curries. Just finished marinading some spare ribs & chicken wings to BBQ tonight. Marinade comprises rum, honey, dijon, spring onions, dem sugar, dark soy, garlic & allspice.

On the subject of curry - we are having a Tom Kerridge recipe on Saturday - lamb shank madras. Will report back. Weather forecast shows a break in our glorious sunshine come this Saturday/Sunday. Getting a couple of BBQ's in before then.Wink
