Is this a master stroke by Sunak and co, there was talk that the Tories were going to put him up for election at a much safer seat.
Do the current party leaders/strategists believe that he could theoretically lose his seat and as such remove the likelihood of him staying around (within the party) and continuing to build a team of campaigners around him to push for his return as PM.

Who came second? I'd imagine 3rd place might unofficially "back off"? I'd hope so.

Doesn't have to be that way. One thing's for sure ... sticking with the status quo means more of the same.

Agree it doesn't

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

In the same vein the Democrats get the American economy and purpose on track again for the Republicans to wreck it all again....

Good thread here https://twitter.com/seaninsound/status/1637032008965668866?s=20

So the new buzzword and enemy within is "The New Elite." Get ready to hear this a lot over the coming months. The way our media works is Orwellian. Slabs of "Manufacturing Consent" going on.

Latest p*$$take by this Tory Govt denying Wales its rightful equivalent spend on transport. Just to make a point on this - Welsh Taxpayers contribute taxes. We deserve capital expenditure as investment in our economy. Last time I looked at this, capital expenditure per person in Wales was 70% of the UK average. The way the UK works is dismal. It has to change.

Westminster has just announced a new railway project in the north of England..the funding is classed as English Welsh ..so we will pay out of our budget for it ....I believe this is Westminster's tightening of the rules to ignore devolution ...we are nothing more as a very poor and ignorable part of England to them ...2nd class citizens who can be ignored and abused

It's not just us either. Northern England have similar complaints. Can't blame them either. England might do well to look at the German Lander system.
