IF the wru hadnt gone into meltdown and if it hadnt affected the players...That in turn would have helped a little bit. But weve also leaped from 1 coach back to the former coach and both were guilty of the most bizarre selection policies and gats has retreated back into siege mentality coaching too. Even if wed done all these things better, we'd probably be losing to the french but wed be a damn side more competitive.

Your being to kind Roy.

We are dross.

Oh we are dross of course and we may be in the wilderness longer than Moses, but I still think if wed applied more common sense and more imagination in our coaching and strategies wed at least be a tad bit better. As it stands , considering the money invested in this squad an these coaches , we're embarrassing really, incapable of playing any rugby and too scared to even try

ah the old double bluff eh?  win the wooden spoon and pick the wrong team all 6 nations tactics...Lull our future opponents into complacency for a few years? Fail to develop the next generation for a decade, swap coaches 5 minutes before 6 nations and world cup..Disillusion all the players mid season with financial mismanagement...Then suddenly bang, play the right team, pay the wages and shock everyone and storm to world cup gloryLOL

Won't happen gentlemen.

Late last night I watched Slammed 70s. The one thing that stuck in my mind 3 Grand Slams 3 Triple crowns on the trot...unheard of, unknown territory.  But crucially listening to the words of players and yes the press....there was one common theme.

The team was full of genuine World class players, not pretend loved up stuff that's written about today's players desperately grabbing at anything that resembles flair and skill.

And that's the point with this French team. They have at least 3 world class players, possibly 5 and players who are running to attain that status in the coming year or even years.

This French team is special, really special with players not playing out of positions, like us and are specialists in their craft, they play rugby as its meant to be played and its brilliant to watch.

And here's my point, I don't particularly like the French ...dont rate the Country or the people, I prefer Italy and the Italians and have had fantastic times in Italy...but not in France, perhaps its me..... but its my view, so I don't have any affinity towards the French at all. So my points are based on my love for running rugby, quick and skillful rugby.

I love the way they play rugby and the style they want to win by ....and this French outfit for me will win the World Cup. Sport is cyclic and its our time accept rebuilding and finding future World class players, so until then enjoy a team that could emulate what we achieved with the best Welsh 15 ever.

It is a majestic french team and we have the ignoble distinction of handing them the missing piece of their jigsaw on a platter, namely the worlds best defence coach. Edwards joining france was the alignment of the french rugby planets. He supplied everything that was missing, discipline, structure, desire, mental strength etc Now theyre the full package and they have the WRU to thank for their world class incompetenceLOL

As for france v italy, it makes me laugh people always compare the 2 lol I would in general agree Italy is better though, Italy is an astonishing country with a bit of everything, beauty, sunshine culture and arts un-paralleled,  it really has everything apart from frogs and snails lol

Both France & Ireland are top quality teams. For me Ireland's main strength is their consistency of performance. France though have the higher ceiling. At times they are a delight on the eye playing rugby with such simplicity which oozes class and is worthy of Bennett in his prime. There is no greater compliment available to me.

As for France, the land and people I do not share your view there Lofty. I have travelled quite extensively from North to South and have loved every minute. The history, traditions, food & wines of every region are a sheer joy.

France will probably try too hard to be the France that shamed England and not hit the same heights. Still win quite comfortably though.

Not a Scooby Doo why you would change the centres and not get Christ etc play...

(I mean that from a future point of view).

Smacks of Gatland being a little emotional which is a surprise. Farewell 6 nations selections for quite a few in my opinion.

Sounds near the mark there TBS. If Wales can keep it to less than 15 I will be pleasantly surprised.

Lofty, you know what I’ll say about France and its people. Like many places, the more you get to know it and its people, the better it is.

Had some great times in Italy, too, although speak only a few words, so limited.

If we can keep it under 50 that would be something. Still struggling to see how we’ve improved under the new and expensively installed coaching regime.

If my expectations are exceeded and we put in a performance that’s unrecognisable from recent fare, that’d be wonderful.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

According to one English pundit, France will put 70 points on the board today - source Steve James’s article in the Times. Pundit not named. Anyone know who?

Well it won’t be Orders that’s for sure, cause with so many of his beloved Ospreys, Wales will push them all the way.
